Zone with low hp, lose all buffs

So this continues to happen to me. I don't remember this from classic EQ. I've had some players tell me it doesn't happen to them and they think it's odd that it's happening to me. Is this a bug? It certainly isn't classic.

It certainly 100% is classic.

It drops your buffs when your HP when zoning is lower than the sum total of Raw HP you gain from gear.

Example:

If you only have 2 65HP rings equipped, and you zone with under 130 HP, you will lose your buffs.

So if you've got 600 HP total, 130 of it from raw HP gear, you can zone anywhere with 600-131 HP. But once you cross that threshold into zoning with less than 130 HP, you lose your buffs. I'm actually not clear on what happens when you're right on the line.

The reason this happens is because the server loads you in first and then your gear. It finds your HP to be lacking because it loaded you naked and tries to proceed with the death sequence, beginning with stripping your buffs. Before it can complete your gear is loaded and all is right in the world and you stay there rather than going to your bind point.

I've actually had this save me before...zoning at 1% HP with a DoT on me. When I hit the ZL barely alive I was thinking "Well crap, I'm dead to the next tick of this DoT anyway..." only to find myself saved by having all buffs/debuffs stripped. Good times.
