View Full Version : Game Mechanics: Plane of Hate Evacuation Point

The evacuation point in PoHate is incorrect.

Currently it's set to the zone in. Instead it should be set to the center of the spiral staircase up to Innoruuk. Which makes sense as it is actually a safe location.

Evidence:

Click on Library -> Abscond Locations

Planes
Zone Location Description Hazards
Plane of Fear -1139, 1282, 1.67 Southwest corner of Fear. NO LONGER WORKS
Plane of Hate 0, 0 Inside the pillar with the ramp to Inny's room. NO LONGER WORKS
Plane of Mischief -1400, -395, 114.72 Zone in from TOV Grumpy Trees in the forest. Just stay invis.
Plane of Sky N/A On the first isle. NO LONGER WORKS

So when Fear and Hate are flagged no longer works, the group AA instant succors stopped working in there, but the single ones still work to this day on live.

Point still stands though, evac point in hate is wrong. A wizard should be able to port up to Hate, and immediately succor their group to the safe point in the middle of the zone to avoid the break in, like classic.

Crazy to know how much tricks this game has, in Velious our guild was still just breaking in at the port-in location, never once succored... damn that would have been easier. Although I will say, some of the shit-fest Hate break-ins were the funnest classic experiences I ever had.

Also, I am going solely on memory, but I seem to recall Hate being an indoor zone, where SoW and the like didn't work. Have a vague recollection of Luclin coming and one of our monks being thankful they can finally run near SoW speed in Hate when pulling. Is that accurate?

If anyone would know I'm sure it would be you... I'm probably wrong.

I found this reference, although it doesn't list an exact loc:
https://web.archive.org/web/20030209204336/http://www.eqdruids.com:80/reference/spells_egress.htm#Planes

Says 'Tunnel to Innoruuk'. Not sure if that means the staircase or somewhere right before Inny? It did not list a location before 2003 (it had some planes in 2002 but it didn't list Hate).

Another link, also from Graffe's in era (9/24/2001):
https://web.archive.org/web/20010924052840/http://graffe.com:80/

Something to note it says:
Zone / Location / Description / Hazards

Plane of Hate / 0, 0 / Inside the pillar with the ramp to Inny's room. / Not really safe.

Is this place supposed to behave differently than it does on P99? Should it not be a safe spot for trackers?

I think nilbog made it so all creatures see through walls / structures in PoH, don't know if there would be a special circumstance for this particular structure.

I was surprised I couldn't find more readily available information about people porting here, harder info to find than I thought. Would imagine a lot of posts of at least people asking where it went. May have to abandon my usual sources for more corroboration.

It was safe if you stayed in the right area inside of it. It wasn't if you moved around.

It's a ramp, not a staircase.

dafuq is Mandela effect? was that an auto-correct?

It's an internet meme/conspiracy theory about people collectively misremembering the past, but (jokingly? seriously?) thinking it's evidence that they're in a parallel universe that split off from that "shared memory," or memories as it often turns out. It was coined from people who thought Nelson Mandela was killed in prison, then finding out he's still alive, but the most visible and recently popular example is people who thought the Berenstain Bears were called the Berenstein Bears. The latter is confused by some merchandise having both stain and stein on the same product packaging.

Another bump. Is the fountain/ramp area the only safe place in the zone? Looking for a place to stay out of the way when others are pulling. Any difference between in front of the fountain and tucked back between the ramp and column?

Bump. The Plane of Hate evacuation point should be 0,0 which places you physically inside of a pillar.
