I tried to do a fresh installation, but I still can't fix this missing icon. Has anyone else had this issue? I know it's not that big of an problem, but it annoys me.

Right click the thing you want an icon for -> right click it again in the popup menu -> Properties -> Change Icon

That's the thing. I've done that. eqgame.exe has the right icon, but the taskbar icon is resorting to the default one.

Oh hmm, actually Windows 7 handles taskbar stuff a bit differently than Windows 10, I forgot about that. Try this: open Windows Explorer, enter %AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar into the address bar, right click on your EverQuest shortcut -> Properties -> Change Icon.

Tried that. Didn't work, but what's weird is that the icon is not missing when I pin the shortcut to the taskbar, but when I start it up, it launches into a new program with a missing icon. As seen in the screenshot, the program to the right of Everquest is the Everquest window.

My icon looks the same way a generic application icon. I tried the things that paulgiamatti suggested and none of it has worked for me as well. I can't even get Everquest launched via the bat file to pin to the taskbar. Looks like the picture in the OP, it's just not an option.

I managed to make it pin-able to my taskbar by changing the target to:
cmd.exe /C "Z:\EverQuest\Launch Titanium.bat"

But none the less mine too starts a separate taskbar icon that is the generic application icon.

(this Isn't a big deal for me, I just want to let hondel7896 know he's not alone)

Ohh I get it - you mean the icon for the running application, not the shortcut icon. Yeah it's like that for everyone. I could probably change it by messing with the .exe/.dlls but I wouldn't want to risk getting the banstick if the server reads that I'm using a modified client. P99 devs will have to fix it - worth submitting a bug report about it in the bugs forum, because...

Dun dundun dun dun NOT CLASSIC.

Oh. I didn't realize it was like that for everyone. I thought something got screwed up. Oh well, I guess I can probably live with it.
