Hello, I've criss crossed Norrath on nostalgia so far on my iksar monk. Character is named Schear. Totally bored now leveling solo in the Overthere. Wishing I had people to play with. Anyone have a guild or a group of friends I can join and level up with? Would love to be doing Upper Guk or Sol A or high pass with some people, or anywhere really.

Some great leveling guilds advertise in the guild forums. Check that out, you might find something that interests you.

Failing that, you can probably get pugs in Upper Guk at least - I see groups there at scryer and dead side ZL frequently enough. That's another way you can find a leveling guild, too. Highpass occasionally has some people in it that you can pug with too.

At 24 you can move to Mistmoore which is firmly along the Approved Leveling Path For Young Norrathians and network there.

Best way by far to play EverQuest is to find friends to do it with for sure. Static groups for life. There's one that advertises in these very starting zone forums that might have room for you. (Looking back I see you have hit them up already, good idea.)

At 22, consider the following spots:
- Warsliks giant fort
- Uguk scryer area
- Unrest or Mistmoore

All of these seem fairly popular from 20-30ish.

Everybody always suggests MM. Let me tell you that MM is often overcamped and you will probably spend a lot of time LFG there.

There have been a few suggestions already. Let me add east karana. You can always solo gorge hounds or find some people who are doing craig spiders. LOIO might be another nice zone where some people go without it being overpopulated.

For solo xp you can do the hermit camp in SK. Bring some shurikens to drag him out. Probably best solo xp spot at your level in all of norrath.

I recommend you go to youtube and search up Flatts / Vareous. He chronicles his adventures as an Iksar monk from lvl 1 to about 55 here on p99 blue. Very fun watch and eye opening as he plays the exact race/class combo.

Heres a link to video # 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqYdv_Bh0xM

That seems like a pretty cool series.. did he stop playing?

Also did someone just hand him a Fungi and full monk gear? cool lol

I don't know if he stopped playing but I know he does go missing in action a few times out of the year. He doesn't have the toxic addiction we all have..and YES! he did get that fungi and gear loaned to him. Most likely because someone saw his videos and trusted he was doing the community good because he also made the popular everquest a retrospective video so far around 200k views about classic everquest. I think that video sourced a few hundred players that eventually gave p99 a shot.

Cool dude on my list

Look me up in game. We have a good number of people in the 20-50 range you could likely group with and pretty active/friendly guild chat and voice chat. Check out our recruit thread in the guild section of these forums and/or go fill out a quick app on our site: http://vita-infinita.enjin.com

ericthemighty, i am about go give you the best advice in the world, because I read your post and understand your plight. listen to me - this is what you need to do

YOU need to be active and get things started. First, go to the zone or camp you want, make sure it's open, and then start SPAMMING /ooc and spam send tells to fill up the group. You're a monk, so really the most important thing to get a group going at this point is a healer. You're level 20ish you say? So do this -

/who cleric 18 24 all

send a tell to every single one of the clerics in those level ranges online, asking if they want to join your group. Tell them you have a group already, people always will come if they think/know there is a group already. A healer and a monk is enough anyway. Don't send one tell and wait for the persons response, fire out the tells, over invite for the group, who cares. If ya cant get a cleric, do the same for shaman and druid. Once you got all those tells out, start filling up the rest. Get a tank, dps, etc. Do the /who 18 24 for any class. Spam the invites and tells. If YOU tell people you have a group at a certain dungeon camp, they will come, believe me.

at this point youll find like minded people day in and day out, and form some friends and maybe a guild with these people

i just told you the only thing that matters in this whole thread, skip everything else you read and don't bother reading other peoples posts. i've been there and this is how to fix it,

you're welcome buddy

So, you are telling him to lie intentionally? Great way to ruin a reputation and very selfish behaviour. Be truthfull, tell people that you are in the progress of building a group. Other than that, the advice is sound.

what does it matter? a healer and a monk is a group, you can do basically anything. People don't know what they want. The group is going to fill up anyway so just get them to come down. People want to group but they think if there is not a group established holding the camp already, they might think the group wont be good enough or won't last. But if the leader knows what he's doing and knows the group will be smooth, he just needs the people to come. Its everquest it's not life and death

yes im telling him to lie, it's not a big deal

as i said OP, ignore all of the other posters in this thread

Fan D is a box legend and one of the best and most accomplished players who has ever graced Norrath. You should read this post and read it again because I quoted it, and ignore all the other replies to this thread. Fandango has a primal weapon and none of these other posters will ever get one.

Actually this post was more than enough. And it was enough after less than 24 hours even. Got a guild, that solved it. Had more than 10 separate invites to groups all over. Have some people on my friends list to play with now. I had been doing this a bit, but I was erring on the lazy side.

Kinda would like to delete it cause I still get messages, now I'm 7 levels higher and busy lol. Leaving Kunark was a big deal. Do not kunark because after field of bone that place is dead. at least in 20-30.

Thanks.
