gonna be so much fun with all the new awesome changes. Biggest difference between zek and red99 is

zek 90% pvp 10% pve
red99 95% pve 5% pvp

red99 is only fun to grief bluebies honestly, zek there are no bluebies because there is like almost zero pve content. You make your character stronger by pvping love it. If you havent already check out the new changes at

Anymore rampant cheating?

Think there was far more cheating done on red99 than zek

Only going by what I heard, never gave it a try. How do no novo favored classes progress ie. cleric. I'm interested

with the recent changes healers are far more powerful in S2 than S1. Heal spells range increased with cast time reduced. I'm actually playing cleric next season. Their nukes are strong too. All classes are viable but in the end its about teamwork and strategy.

sounds awesome, do they have a forum you can post on?

Zek is way over hyped on here but it can be fun to mess around on for a few weeks. All classes are not viable and they are always trying to compensate by adding in a lot of custom rules and gear. Support classes really lacked last time.

There is a lot more cheating on Zek but if it is found out the active devs will do something about it. There are bugs because there is so much custom content being put in all the time. Things get exploited but since the devs are so active and fix it as soon as they can it isn't game breaking.

zek is a ton of fun and not a time sink like on p99.

P99 is designed for a player that wants to run away from real life and invest thousands of hours and build an online persona more focused on PVE wasting your life away.

zek is more designed around jump in with everybody else join the mass pvp and smaller scale pvp fights and just have tons of fun. very small commitment or time required to enjoy.

I'm posting on here for various reasons. These forums have been around for like 8 years where the zek season 1 just started like less than a year ago. In case you still arent catching on that means these forums have a larger base of people, and they dont even play everquest cause this server is dead. So this is actually the perfect place to post as anybody that reads the zek forums already knows whats going on.

and to comment again about the cheating, far more cheating has been done on p99 than on zek.

Oh yeah yes all classes are viable. If you think a certain class is not viable its because you either dont know how to play or you dont know what certain classes are capable of.

you are posting here because you want people to go play on zek

this server isnt about spending thousands of hours or building an online persona, its 20 years later and its emulated EQ, its about having fun for a few hours and playing everquest.

if its anything more, its because you have an addictive personality or OCD and are unemployed.

Zek is the best shitbox out there. Every 6 months it pops up, 3-5 people play it, and it fails. Probably will be different this time on it's 9th attempt though. Good luck on zek!

server typically lasts three months. season 1 averaged 90-150 players. was a lot of fun! cant wait for season 2 definitely going to have more pop as its been fine tuned!

There are threads on eqpvp.com on how to make support classes viable because they were so terrible the first time around. They made a bunch of items for season 2 to fix this, so everyone but you agrees classes like Shamans sucked. Everyone had cure clickies and cured any DoT a shaman could cast much quicker than the DoT casting time and their heals were too slow and weak to keep up with the ramped up damage.

There is not more cheating on Red99 than Zek. If you think people turning in bone chips for epics and Velious armor in a classic era game is less cheating than what goes on with this server you are just wrong. Red99 exploits are minimal and have spanned over years while major cheats on zek are used within weeks of launch. The saving grace are devs that care and try to fix it.

didn't someone find that u could turn in bone chips or somethin to get the same rewards for PvPing?

hokuten99
10-12-2016, 04:19 PM
yes farzo but its was resolved the day after and points were taken away. all the more reason to play season 2 as it wont be an issue.

This server is like the diablo 2 of everquest pvp.

I'm not so much trying to get more people to play here but more of trying to help people not miss out on a really fun opportunity.

The pop in season 1 for the first month or two was more than enough people. season two will have more regardless.

It's going to be fun!

Yeah cant defend themselves for shit in PvP anymore with nukes, resist code fucked it. It isn't classic and I don't care what anyone says here about it.

Well then I guess you and Sektor should start a campaign for making lure rate cleric nukes complete with tons of old screenshots, posts of respected players corroborating it (including ones dated appropriately from the wayback) and a way of using the values listed in Lucy that creates a coherent system that actually ends up modelling classic EQ.

I'll be a sport and won't even try to fucks with/disprove any of it. glhf.

Don't think it was ever about lure cleric nukes.

Clerics partial landed magic nukes on live. Whether it was for 300 damage, 89 damage, or 236 damage. Partials were the norm. Flat out all-or-nothing wasn't a real thing. Not for clerics. They could land nukes, just not doing much damage. 6 second cast time or what not, and hitting between 0-300 depending on the roll, but flat out resisting wasn't that common. It was definitely unique to clerics as I recall. They were known to partial extremely often.

Exactly my point, now login a 60 cleric and see if that shit lands ever, even with 60 mr. Its shit now, should atleast partial and it doesnt.
