They always get this way right around the presidential election (The fall). We aren't their target audience anymore. Its people that never watch news except during the presidential election that they are after. These people just want to say "go team" and are more responsive to tone than actual information.

True to a degree, but its more desperate than ever. The fact that every show on tv is non-stop circulating drama and conspiracy that even a tabloid wouldn't normally touch is beyond the norm. Yesterday ABC tried to pin down Trump jr for "white supremacist Pepe the frog" meme. The day before it was all about Trump's birtherism. Every third day when they run out of material its back to David Duke who no one would know is still alive if it wasn't for democrats and their media puppets pinning him to the republican nominee every 4 years (whom Trump has had to disavow 12 times and counting).

Its a shitshow.

What is so hilarious about the pepe thing is that, if you were to actually do an image search on pepe you would find that normal "feels good man" or "feels bad man" images or general trolling outnumber racist images prolly 100k to 1.

Its like saying that because some guy painted his honda civic with racial slurs that the honda civic is a "racist car".
