View Full Version : Holyforge crit chance?

I've used holyforge several times now since hitting 55, usually when I know I'll be fighting undead for several minutes consecutively. Each time, in five minutes of near-uninterrupted melee, I get one, *maybe* two crits. Are other paladins getting similar results? Is this working as intended, and just a terrible disc, or am I missing something here? Everything I've dug up online is about the post-Luclin version, so I don't have much to reference.

I'm pretty sure this works on all mobs, not just undead

No idea on the crit rate though

So it does! Thanks :) The crit chance is still abysmal so far though D:

Well crits are based on dex. It may be related to that

Ah. Didn't realize this was the case. Still only got a couple in 5 mins with 200 instead of 100 dex, but I'll have to do some more testing I guess.

It can do a critical hit on any kind of mob.

It can do a crippling hit on undead.

The rates are awful (even with 255 dex) and the disc is garbage.

It's really just designed to have fun with is all. Back in Velius , I don't think they designed Paladins with abilities that were ground breaking, more so for the role play aspect of anti undead abilities.

I agree the crit ratio is terrible even with 255 dex. However, I've never seen a crippling blow on anything from it though others have said they have(which I question). To be fair there aren't a ton of undead mobs in the end game Velious, where I spend the majority if my time, so I would only have a chance to really observe this when I go back to older content. However, my Paly was 60 before Velious, I got a Primal pretty early on, and do crypt and KC basement from time to time. At this point I would have to assume the chance of a crippling is so minuscule that it might as well be non-existent.

I think crit ratio is broken but I don't have much in the way of data to back it up. Seeing 2-4 crits with 2 handers and maybe a few more with 1hander during uninterrupted melee with 255 dex is pretty terribad.

2 months in to velly i took my paladin to TOFS using a spear of the great dawn + avatar proc

200+ dex and in the full duration of the disc I got 1 tiny little proc.

disc is a fugue JOKE.

please delete it

That's pretty much :classic: Holyforge commentary right there. It was a source of endless complaints back in the day. Wasn't until there were enough AAs that impacted it to make it at least fun (PoP, iirc) that people started having any good things to say about it.

Well... guess that's just how it is then. At least it's still fun to see a crit once in a while just so I get to hear people say "Whaaaa pallies can crit!?"

This disc is huge and due to it paladins are by far the best 1v1 pvp class on red99

I'm pretty sure a good chanter can wreck a paladin , drain all their mana. Charm a nice monster to wreck them.

No one cares about what's good on red.
