Does it actually have any use other than looking cool and being a unique item from back then on live ?

Thanks.

I think the only real useful feature it has is that giant knockback effect it's got.

IIRC low resist too, shit was a nightmare in pvp

Is the knockback that big on P99 though? I heard it isn't.

Yes, it's pretty wicked. It can move mountains if you have a few of them

Honestly, the clicky is really bad on P99 from what I've seen. Easily resistable and tiny knockback. I don't think it's implemented correctly.

I haven't tried the clickie in months, but last time I used it the knockback was really underwhelming. It moved the character / mob a few inches maybe, definitely didn't send people flying like I remember from live. I did see a friend with a chetari ward staff knock someone back more recently though and it seemed to knock them back further (there was a wall behind, so not sure how far they'd have gone), but maybe it has been fixed. I'll test it out again next time I can get online.

It's supposed to parse well on a Trueshot Discing Ranger.

Archery at higher levels should deal double damage to a stationary target (I.E. All Velious Raid Bosses).
Trueshot Discipline should double damage to your archery

So this archery weapon can be used in primary and still benefit from the above two facts, quadrupling the base damage.

I don't know how well this all works on P99, my ranger is only 11 and I'm too lazy to level him. But if it's like it was on classic it was a decent option for a Trueshot Discing ranger. On P99 though, on any fight that matters, a ranger is likely expected to save their disc for Weaponshield anyways.

knockback is one of those fucky things that are tied to frame rate

cap your fps at ~25 and see how far you fly

higher frame rates, less distance on knockback - tunare strat omg omg

the first few attempts at tunare were done under her tree - the bfg could move her around (bfglulz)

another bfglulz thing you can do with this is max archery in about an hour on a warrior (or anyone that can use it I guess). mainhand it, have a bunch of bags of arrows, and go auto-attack shit until you're max.

edit: playing around with it now and it seems different, used to be able to direct it too but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.. shrug

was playing around with one in a duel in EC and it would throw my char from the tunnel entrance over the sand to land in the grass.

either lower your max framerate to 10, or alternatively just click it to begin cast then tab out til it lands, and itll launch you pretty far

it also knocks mobs back pretty far, even when it gets resisted. you can also use it to knock mobs thru walls or ceilings in select areas

The knockback effect is useless on P99 but for shits and giggles. Extremely resistable by mobs, and even if it does land it won't move them enough to make up for the cast time. That might be a bug - I have no idea how much it's supposed to move mobs.

Indeed, it's basically the best DPS weapon for 55+ rangers if you're willing to burn a few stacks of arrows in one fight. It's a mainhand weapon that shoots an arrow at point blank with each swing, so you'll get the primary hand damage bonus while keeping Swiftwind in your offhand. Add onto that the doubling of archery damage for 50+ rangers as Daldaen mentioned, along with Trueshot Discipline which redoubles your damage for 2 minutes. Add onto that archery critical hits. If you're a fletcher, add onto that another damage multiplier from 8 damage arrows. It won't proc knockback as it's clicky only, and has a very high delay so you won't have to worry about stealing aggro while dealing out rogue-level DPS. And since it uses the archery skill, it will be affected by Fleeting Quiver haste, if you aren't already maxed.
