Infested with bots, TERRIBLE exploits left unpatched since beta, no customer support forums because they were being permaflooded and they were too incompetent to solve it, etc.

Aion would have been an alright game if they weren't so fucking bad at their jobs.

Yea, the bot problem was horrible and completely screwed the game's economy from the very start. When I quit if felt like they knew the game was going in the shitter, so they were going to just pump out as much expansions as possible before they lost their loyal hardcore player base. Now that I think of it that sounds really familiar....hmmmmmmm.

So yeah, everyone post your favourite song from a video game. I think it is fair to say that the majority of everquest players, especially the ones who went out of their way to find a emulated version of an 11 year old RPG, take games a little more seriously than the general populous.

Through the years, video games have had a real impact on me. Playing a great game, left me with the same feeling as finishing an epic novel. So.... Post your favourite video game songs from your favourite video games.

I'll start this off with one a little more obscure than the big FF7 songs. This is from my MOST loved RPG of all time. Xenogears.... That game blew me away on so many levels, from the mech fighting, to the tower of babil, to the masterfully crafted story line. This was one of the most finely polished RPGs squaresoft ever released. Every time I hear this song it sends shivers down my spine!!!!

I was looking for a RL music box that would play this song - I'd pay 150$ for one probably. Too bad I found out that it costs many thousands of $ to produce music box keys since you have to produce a mold or something for it. :/ - Probably my favorite RPG of all time as well! I wish they would make Xenogears on a portable though like DS :P so I can take it with me, kind of feel locked down when I have to sit in front of a console or PC.

Since most of the real stuff has been posted, figure I'll throw some remixed/tribute stuff out there. Machinae Supremacy's a weird ass band (I mean let's face it, pseudo metal with C64 sounds embedded in it is just plain weird) but some of the remixed snippets of older songs are pretty solid.

Should be able to pick up a ton of old C64 tracks on there, some that are newer, I think in one of the later tracks there's some FZero, Castlevania, Megaman, etc, but not on the particular one I linked. Fun band as a diversion if you're into that kinda crap.

In a non 'classic' vein, the Silent Hill OSTs are simply amazing at times. Some of the tracks on there are absolutely fantastic and don't really seem like they belong on a game soundtrack. They're also pretty damned diverse as there are vocals in I think 3 different languages between them all and there are a ton of instrumental only that are all over the place. Couple links for those. As far as fitting the mood of the game/environment....I think this series is kinda unmatched.

Speaking of awesome Earthbown music, before you kill the second boss you fight some guy called "Middle-Aged Hippy" or something, and the music for that specific battle is great.

I'm more into looking at game sountracks overall, though I do have particular favorite songs. Think some of my favorites are:

1. Xenogears
2. Chrono Trigger
3. Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind

Castlevania has been mentioned many times too, and for good reasons :)
