I was a veteran EQ player from 1999-2007 and quit. I haven't made my character yet and was wondering about server select. I don't know anyone here. Any advice? Also I am off 4 days a week Tue-Fri

I have only played on Blue, and, for me, it's been a good experience.

I was confused at first as there is a pretty decent sized list of servers... my first pick the names were actually all in some Asian looking writing. I went and picked the blue server.

You can play both and see which you like the best, but blue would be happy to have you.

As someone who played Tallon Zek / Sullon Zek on live, play on Blue.

Blue, red isn't classic experience at all. Global chat, low population and crazy experience bonuses.... could forgive them for low population if it didn't have exp bonuses and global chat

Kunark wasnt out for...3 years? on Live, so Blue isnt classic by that standard. Add itap to your friends list OP if you try Blue out and send me a tell in game and ill see what I can do for ya / answer your questions / get you started

Wrong, Blue is much more un-classic than Red server is. Totally ridiculous inflation of gear, factory-style wiki play, and high end overcamping.

Don't even begin to talk about the exp bonus on Red as a bad thing, when on Blue people just AoE Bard farm the shit out of zones to level. The exp bonus on Red is simply there to offset the extra challenge of the server. It's much better way of playing than what Blue offers.

Global chat isn't a bad thing at all either. Everyone is /ANON on Red and there are less people in zones as compared to Blue, so Global chat is simply natural for the community aspect.

Red has roughly 10% of the population of blue at any given time. Keep that in mind
