Ready to play, but how?

Hello all! Very excited at the chance to play the real EQ again. Games like WoW and EQ2 were always so fast paced I never got the enjoyment out of them that I did from the original EQ. So I'm ready to go!

However, is the only way to play P1999 to spend $200 on Titanium? I'm not asking for anyone to tell me how to get it illegally, seriously, I'm just not able to afford $200, (I just bought a new gaming laptop) - is buying an expensive hard copy the only way to go about this?

EQ titanium is no longer distributed by the publisher. the only versions you can get are illegally downloaded (filled with viruses) or lucked out at a secondhand game store. if you know someone who has a version, you could get it from them.

i admit i havent downloaded titanium in over 5 years, but i do remember there being a seeded version that had viruses in it. so if its safe then great, but you are still taking a risk.

thirded the highest seeded version on the bay workes great for me virus scan ran clean.

No less risk than installing the files from this very site, which you will need to do to play the game regardless.

Not illegal if you bought EQ in the past which i'm sure 99% of us did.

I did indeed have an old account I MIGHT be able to surface. However, I thought I read in the instructions not to patch, so I wasn't sure if I downloaded EQ Titanium strictly online if I would be okay to play P1999 after the download completed.

I have the discs and still ended up having to just download it.. I kept getting an error on the final disc... it is easier to just DL it.

I started the process of getting myself going in 99 2 years ago, bought the disks through a US friend and had him send me ISOs. Took me longer than I expected and I ran out of holiday..forgot about it..tried again this summer. I've extensively googled and read all the series of errors I've had, but I am still consistently failing to get going. I even considered buying the game over again and getting the disks myself, though import on top of the purchase price is what deterred me last time..
The instructions for getting going are so detailed I can't quite believe I can't make it work. If I just install I can get to the login server, but no further. As soon as I write in the files specific to 99 I get errors, either the one about no debug.. or that eqgame can't be found, despite its being there. I'm afraid that work is going to overtake me again before I ever get in.
If anyone can be bothered to read and reply to this I'd be really grateful.

you can find it on ebay and amazon i personally know this as i had to repurchase the client, as far as the rest saying to download it i would not advise listening to them,they are giving you bad advise.
