Do the admins ever do concerted fundraising efforts?

I ask because over my first month of being here, I've had a blast and would like to help make sure this keeps going... Should I wait for some kind of fundraising drive for some large purchase or just throw in a few bucks whenever I have a few to spare?

Sweet, done and done... If the admins don't do fundraising drives I think we should do one for them...

Post here if you donated today!

Please have a car wash. I would pay good money for that @Sirken

I wish the people who run p99 would be more open about their needs regarding donations so that we could make sure they are taken care of. I have been playing here for over a year and Ive never seen them ask for funds. I think if they were to make a post saying "guys, we are a nonprofit and we're low on cash and need some donations to keep the bills paid" they would see an uptick in donations.

I donated to P1999 the first day I started playing. What P1999 has done is incredible.

I appreciate that P1999 is a very unique situation and is not a for profit organization. I would love to donate again but I would like to see management make an effort to reach out to the community and engage in some good faith dialogue about the state of P1999 and the future of P1999. I would gladly donate to a charity too.

Many of us are here because this is the only place we can experience classic EverQuest. I just wish we had some way we could pay a monthly subscription and get a high level GM/Guide customer service along with daily GM/Guide events that was the case on EQ live back in the day. The admins, devs, GMs, guides work tirelessly and should be paid or rewarded somehow for their work.

Agree completely! Same here, donated the first day I discovered this project and with this last one it will be the 3rd donation I sent in the about two years I've been playing here. Time goes by and if noone requesting it, it's easly forgotten. Hope staff will let us know if funds are needed and I too wouldent mind to pay a minor subscription for the entertainment p1999 brings. Think though there could be a conflict in that towards the lisence from Daybreak to run this emu, but dont know how that works at all.

You ARE new to private servers. Because if you weren't you'd know that who ever has the highest population private server for a game gets donations to cover all their costs. This includes months possibly even years out from there. Please don't think I'm trying to being rude. I understand people aren't born with experience. We all have to learn somehow.
Nostalgia is a powerful drug.

Seeing as how P99 has never mentioned one way or the other. I believe they're sitting pretty on donations in an account that can only be used for project 1999.

Donate if you want to help out. (http://www.project1999.com/index.php?pageid=donations) I don't believe there is any reason for a fundraiser though.

I've been around private servers well over 15 years to get a good general understanding of how donations roll in. On top of that knowledge I've been around sites like twitch for over 6 years. While I can't explain why or how. I do know people will donate enormous amounts of money to something online.
