i bought a ps4 so that i could play farcry2 :(

the system came bundled with star wars battlefront, which i was really looking forward to playing! turns out i do not enjoy playing star wars battlefront as much as i enjoyed the original, due to the leveling system. now i am struggling with finding a game that i want to play, any recommendations?

i enjoy open-world, non-linear rpg-style games with lots of fighting and endless monsters, online play is not a must. im hoping for 3 suggestions so that i can narrow down my selection, there can be only one. the LOTR game looks fun but i am hoping to get some other options.

thanks :)

It's not exactly open-world or non-linear but check out Bloodborne.

i wanted to experience sneaking around africa lighting people on fire, while sprawled out in my bed. mouse/keyboard ruins my immersion as it almost requires a chair/desk.

i use my pc for word processing, forum trolling, porn viewing, and running around greater faydark

i have no interest in dealing with the nightmare that is setting up a new PC in order to play videogames.

get a 3ds and play monster hunter its "open-world, non-linear games with lots of fighting and endless monsters" the game. its also the best game series once the 3rd gen hit and they got real hit boxes

Arkham Knight for Ps4 is fun. Open world and stealthing bad guys. Even more fun if you don't use save scumming.

Doom is really good. Feels true to the original from back in teh day.

Wild card: Trials Fusion. a deceptively simple motorcycle platformer that will crush you with it's difficulty.

Many cool cheap games on steam that you could run on a PC built for EQ. Speedrunners, Nidhogg, Rogue Legacy, the binding of Isaac(not one of my favs but a very popular game with no real graphics req). Just saying always options :)

Wasn't that into it initially but I've grown to really enjoy Destiny.

Essentially open-world (linear missions, but you can also just explore around the various levels) with rogue-like itemization and really fun PVP.

It's kind of like an MMO with elements of Halo and Borderlands.

Requires Playstation Plus to really have much fun with it, but it's definitely worth it.

Fallout 4 also dope as hell, obv.

If you have not played Dark Souls 3, then you should immediately because it's exactly what you're looking for.

Diablo 3 is actually really good now as well and fits what you're looking for.

i bought shadow of mordor, and its pretty much exactly what i wanted. senseless grind, with some aspect of customization. im still looking forward to no man's sky, though after reading their subreddit, i dont think im going to hop on at launch
