Windows Application Error after Server Selected

Hoping someone can help me out. I am running EQ for P1999 on Windows 10 I am able to logon and get to the Select Server Screen but after I select one as it goes to connect I get a Windows Application Error specifically:

The instruction at 0x00000000030645b4 referenced memory at 0x0000000003CBF0DC.The memory could not be read. click ok to terminate the program

Any suggestions on resolving this issue?

First glance it sounds like it's trying to switch resolutions and EQ doesn't know what to do and it shuts down.

Hi Tupakk. First of all thank you for replying for info. Here is the full scenario:


I myself have the files in a folder on my C: drive which I am actually able to play from. I copied the working folder and sent it to a friend to use. They are able to as mentioned get to the Server Select Screen but after choosing one get that error message referenced above. Have tried some of the fixes like changing WindowMode=Fasle to True as well as Height and width in the Client.ini file but with no difference

Send him the ISO and have him install it from scratch then. Just cause it works on your computer doesn't mean it will work for him.

Oh forgot to mention. Files were downloaded and setup per Starting guide on P1999 site. I run and play the game from the Launch Titanium.bat file in the folder I created on my C: drive labeled EQemu1999. The folder and files in it are identical to those I gave my friend to use

I've tried the PocketEq thing and more times than naught there is always some issues. It's always best just to make a fresh install than be lazy.

I'm having the same issues after multiple fresh installs to C:, playing with resolutions, fullscreen/windowed, etc... Haven't played in months :(

Random suggestion but get a copy of Directx 9.0c Can find it on microsoft website. Install and see if that helps.(it wont hurt anything).

Man I wanted to come back to this, having this issue too. was a fix ever found? I cannot get direct x9c due to being on windows 10. I tried changing resolution in ini file.... didnt help.
Running out of other suggestions when searching the forums for this error.

Post what you put for resolution in the eqclient.ini file, 99% of the time there's a resolution issue... -- Mg
