shaman monk duo, what shaman gear?

So ive read some threads about shaman gear, and most seem to agree hp ac is better than wis. What if i have a monk friend that i will duo with 99% of the time?
Should i go for ac hp, wis or a mix?

mana/hp early on, then when you level your wis will affect your mana more. Guess you could also get a nice weapon too because Shaman aren't terrible at melee early on. Basically in fights you will cast a few spells, then melee or med.

I have a good spear (12/19 i think), and my stats are currently 150 str 150 sta and 150 wis at lvl 23. The monk is 32 so i have some catching up to do before i get a feel for it.

Since mana regen is what controls your pace of XPing, and when XPing you shouldn't really be fighting anything tough enough that you need a full mana bar for one fight, and your buddy will take at least as many hits as you do... I'd say just balance your stats. Wis definitely isn't a great stat from like 1-40 but don't be too concerned about buying +mana gear for low levels and then retooling at higher levels.

Tecmos has the right idea. I'd go for cheap gear in most of your slots and then save for the Great Shaman Trio of JBB, Epic, and Fungi.

With those stats already + a 12/19 spear I'd say you are in great shape just save for the big 3 like Raev said.

I would suggest prioritizing the fungi first as epic won't help you as much in group play as the fungi will.

Thing is, i sold all i had on several characters as i recently returned, so i already have a fungi and hastebelt.
I do love optimizing gear tho, so i was just thinking if i should swap some hp items for more wis/mana gear or vice versa. When duoing with a monk i guess somewhere in the middleground is good.

In your situation then I would just save for epic and continue the balanced approach, especially once you level up to 24 and get canni 1 / regen and your fungi turns into free mana.

Just go to a faction group in WL and pick up a surveyor scope.

Shamans also get sow boots from epic if you're outside.

Yeah scope and boots work, but you'll need indoors covered obviously and scope is just annoying with the effect imo. Both work well, used the boots a ton myself during my 40s in CoM.

+hp regen gear will be the game changer. Everything else is kind of window dressing. You might as well throw your money towards your friends monk's gear.
