Aridale <Venerate> Is AWFUL

At the AC Camp, I made nice chit-chat with him/her, asking him/her if his/her name was based around Airedale Terriers. While it wasn't, we proceeded on our merry way.

I was very specific in my interaction with her. I have video recording of me saying:


"This interaction is being recorded for quality assurance via Bandicam screen recording"
"The current waitlist is Emmie (Katrik) | Secontonone (Dizzal) | Trixadre (Waggles) | Parz (Plaz) | Keslord (Cappwin) | Sansamp"
" I am currently camping the AC spawn in OOT"

However, this person proceeded to tell me that she/he didn't care about the waitlist. As a 51 WIZ, I was to be overpowered when the AC spawn occurred.

I did a /petition, but I heard absolutely nothing. This is an injustice to me (with 4+ hours at the AC spawn) and 5 people on the waitlist. Will the GMs do nothing about this? What is going on?

I have video for EVERYTHING.

I will sort through the video to get the key moments. However, I have an RL dinner to make and will have to do it later tonight or in the morning.

Still beware of Aridale <Venerate>. He/she has no regard to the rules of the server.

<Venerate> is complete scum. One member was present at the scene (Sansamp, a bard in the <Venerate> guild). He left because he didn't want to be involved in the situation. He realized that is guildmate, Aridale, was being scum. He told me that he didn't want to be a part of the situation (also recorded in video).

Being completely honest, I was logged off for dinner. When I logged back in, the camp was clear. I summoned pet, turned on the eqlog (knowing the potential drama) and waited another 20 seconds before sic'ing my pet.

In this situation, the culprit knew that there was a huge list waiting for a spawn, yet he/she assumed that it was his/hers for the taking. And, he/she didn't even ask the person that he/she KNEW was already camping the spawn

People on the wait list ONLY have a claim if they are sitting there waiting for the camp.

Nowhere in the rules is their mention of a "wait list". The person holding the camp gets to keep it until they are done. When they are done, they are free to pass it off to whoever they want. Lists are player made agreements which don't hold water in any official way.


That being said, you are correct. The person died, PH was up, new person killed it and thereby claimed camp.

Yeah did you tell him that after you were gone for 15 mins? If so then its not your camp anymore and it doesnt matter what you told him. If he got there and you were there already then thats one thing.

From my understanding of what happened, you lost the camp from dying. No one on the list was there to take your spot, leaving the camp open for someone else to claim. It sucks to lose the camp, but trashing another guild because of your mistake is pretty lame.

Lists are completely player made, can be fabricated, faked, and are generally unreliable.. GMs will not enforce a "list" in such a manner.

Additionally, you abandoned the camp the instant you were not at it for any reason. (Gate, Corpse, Died, Selling, Helping someone at seafuries) - If you are not maintaining a presence at the camp the entire time of the camp it is not yours.

It also appears that they caught placeholders up - which means you failed to kill an outdoor roaming monster immediately on spawning - which means you weren't camping it as well.

In order to camp an outdoor roaming monster you must be standing on it's spawn and able to engage immediately on spawn with represented force. Meaning, the necessary players to kill the targetted monster must be present at the spawn the entire time you claim to be camping it.

The guy who took the camp from you was 100% in the right to do so. Wait lists are complete bullshit and generally just a player courtesy.. They are in no way size shape or form mandatory or "law" - The only thing that matters is the person sitting on the spawn to kill it the instant it appears... Which was not you, nor was it anyone on your made up list.

Sorry buddy, sucks that you lost the camp, but the person who took it was absolutely right to do so, and you posting on the forums crying about it will only hurt your case publicly.. So far as GM interaction goes, GMs aren't going to punish a guy who showed up to an empty camp with PH up and started killing it. You cannot claim something you are not at, or cannot kill with what you have at it. At that point, the first person(s) to engage the PH and kill it have the camp.

Whoever is there first and killing ph has camp. If another person is waiting there in person they get it next as soon as the AC is dead. It is pretty basic. If the next person on the list isn't there then it is too bad for them because they only have a verbal agreement with the previous owner that has no bearing on other players. If the next person on the list shows up because he is bound at the spot and the AC get a dropped with him there then some lawyering can happen I guess. Other than that kindergarten stuff.

Your a bit mistaken in your post - you can leave an area and still have rights to the camp - it has been done in places. I know a zone where it is common to run to a merchant. The key here is getting back to kill the next set of mobs. The real lesson here though is server rules don't really support solo play.

In regards to the original post, sounds like you died and as such without someone there to hold the camp -- Its OPEN for grabs, as stated before waitlist doesn't hold water. Interesting to see that Secondtonone is still farming AC. When I was there to get my AC ring - he had a pile of bodies lying underwater with rings stashed away on them from what I heard and then saw since he had killed AC before I got a turn.

Yes Crashking I did have corpses nearby. If you understood corpsing you would know not all of those corpses had AC rings on them. Some were corpsed to save rapiers that are temp and will fade after being logged for 20 - 30 mins. If you checked the timers on the corpses and they all happened to be on the same day it was because I recorpse my rapiers and rings all at the same time prior to them rotting at the 7 day mark.

If you are suggesting that I kept the camp after I got an AC ring then you are totally wrong. I follow the list and wait my turn just as everybody should. In the event the camp holder chooses not to use a list and I want to camp the AC I wait at the camp until my turn comes up.

If I was going to try to discredit someone on this forum I would make sure I knew the facts and at the very least I would know what I was talking about. So, good luck if you camp the AC and no matter how you do it disregard what some imbecile may say about you on the forums or otherwise.

Log in. Every mob is up. I start clearing the camp. Clear entire frenzy area and 20+ minutes goes by and some rogue appears and says "why are you at my camp?". I was like, "what? I logged in and everything was up and no one around". Anyway, he asked if I called a CC and I said I didn't need to because it obviously wasn't camped. He said his friend died and he was at the uguk ZL trying to get him a Rez and the camp was still his even tho he wasn't there. I basically told him to go screw himself... Some people and their entitlement syndrome.

That being said, I blew an EE and rezzed his friend after I got my fbss :)

Would suggest taking this post down... it is unfortunate that you lost the camp, but this person did nothing wrong in claiming it. Venerate is a solid group of people with a good rep on the server. If anyone is at fault here it is the person who died/left zone and caused everyone in the "list" to lose their position. I am sure it was embarassing and they probably flamed you, but this post is just going to make your situation worse and make you seem irresponsible in front of the entire server bud.
