Same, and yes, I have downlaoded the latest patch (P99Files42.zip as of this writing) and unzipped them/overwritten all files in the EverQuest folder. Still giving me an outdated spells file error.... ERRORCODE SP-1. Any suggestions?

Move your EQ folder out of the default install location of c:\program files\ (or c:\program files (x86)) directory then repatch / repoint your shortcut / log in.

None of that helped, I ended up having to install Windows into a VM, then install/setup EQ, then copy it out and run everything w/Wine like I did in the first place. It works now. For some reason P99 no like the Linux =(.

so for Linux / wine users, something to look out for is the spelling of dsetup.dll. make sure you change the "new" file from the patch .zip file to match the case / spelling of the old file.

Things i did to get everquest P99 working on my Antergos/Gnome3 setup
1. Copied eq1 folder to linux
2. removed files from eq folder as per p99 website
3. When copying p99 specific files into eq folder pay attention to case sensitive files, in particular dsetup.dll! You have to rename it to DSETUP.dll
4. Get sound to work. Open terminal and enter sudo pacman -S lib32-alsa-lib lib32-alsa-plugins lib32-libpulse lib32-alsa-oss lib32-openal
5. Edit eqclient.ini and change video mode or size to fit your monitor
5a. Change windowedmode to false if you want fullscreen
5b. set refresh rate to 60

I ended up running it in a VM, getting it going, then moving the files over to wine. I am having issues on the kids laptops but thats OK, I will test it again, with your suggestions.
