Warriors are tough to level! We suck at tanking until the 50's, it's hard for us to get around, and even harder to get groups when there is a better tank option around. What do? I am a level 33 warrior. Where should I go? What new gear with velious should I be saving my copper pieces up for?

Eastern Wastes orc fort would be a good place to start, with a duo or trio maybe. Could get yourself some orc fang earrings & ry'gorr chain armor there ( would be a step up from banded or bronze, not sure what your gear level is ). Not sure about specific weapons, but a lot of stuff has dropped in price so you might just browse the auction tracker.

I'd "route 1" to the 50s unless you have a healer you know and like to duo with.

Mistmoore up to 40-41
CoM to up to 50-51

Always send a tell to one group member, especially the ranger, and ask them to root the mob at the start of a fight. That way, if you stand on it's toes it will attack you. Make sure to taunt after any big aggro spells land too, just in case root breaks early!

Also the advice to stick to 'the xp highway' is good. I have played a few warriors and it never seemed hard to find groups with this method.

In the 30s you could grab an axe of the slayers (procs a 90hp rune) and have a go at soloing things in south karana whilst looking for duo partners or groups in paw.

Don't forget to /hotkey STAND /stand to create button that makes you stand up. Hit yourself with a bandage, hit your stand button, tab back on to your target and you can resume fighting whilst not interrupting your bandage attempt (provided you don't move about).

From my experience tanks are in high demand right now at most levels, I don't think you'll have a problem finding a group. But yeah might want to stick to the xp highway zones.

Are you in a guild? If not..join Vita! We are actually in need of a tank around your level for doing guild groups. Our guild is a bit heavy on shaman and monks and many of us are hitting or approaching lvl 30. Our goal is to try and hit dungeons and stuff as we level. It would be nice to not have to attempt to tank on my monk for a change. You think you have problems holding aggro on a warrior? ;)

Always be one of the highest levels lfg for a given area, never go to a new area underleveled as a warrior. Get a high damage weapon for now ...wurmslayer would be ideal but something like staff of battle probably works....

go to highkeep and do goblins or go to mistmoore graveyard until level 35, then do mistmoore castle until 41 ....there are always groups in these places

Also warrior is an end game class. You can be a bad ass raid tank and grind out 1-60 as a warrior or you can be a bad ass tank 1-60 and not tank raid mobs at 60 as a hybrid....

Warriors/Tanks are always in demand... I'm thinking of starting a Warrior to be indemand.

You dont really need gear until 45-50. Stick it out in mistmoore till 40-42 ish then head to City of mist stables, then join one of the several guilds who clear plane of growth or hate and then profit

see, people *need* warriors tho. I have never played a tank class, but I know, the bottom line is, a good group needs one.

I am gonna guess, people have made comments about your gear? Admittedly, tank classes really need gear. I certainly did not make my first char here a tank! But you have to weigh that kind of bs against the fact I just staed above: groups need/want/love tanks.

I recommend just soldiering on. Gear comes with time. P99 is not going anywhere so time is not a factor.

The truth is, it might be eaiser for you to make a necro, enc, or druid and level that -- then use the plat you get to make a warrior. But it is a long processes of not playing the character you originally planned to

Terrible advice, just play your warrior it will be fine, easy to obtain good enough items along the way on p99, lots of cheap gear and good ratio/proc weapons

Completely agree. ECmart will get you weapons at level 5 that 15 years ago you wish you had at level 50. Cloth/patchwork/rawhide/leather will easily tie you over until you can purchase a set of banded for 100pp or fill your slots in bronze.

From there the 'Crafted Armour' quest is a fun way to see the world at 30ish, which will carry you through to kunark / velious armour options.

That's what I did, main a chanter to 60 and then farm and kit our your alt.

That said, if you think you'd enjoy levelling a character to 60 to outfit a melee twink... why not!? Worked for this one!

hehe that was not the mindset initially but to play classes I never did on Live. One caster to 60 then one Melee to 60.

I watched a warrior on red level to 59 using probably about 2k worth of gear you can buy in the EC tunnel. He had a few things going for him.

1. Groups take anything on red because low pop. Basic group makeup is usually warrior/monk tank, shaman/druid heals, and 3 or 4 of other pvp classes like rogues, wizards, or SK's.

2. Halfling warriors level super fast.

3. He had no competition for grouping because people don't care about gear as much. "Good gear" people on red are decked in full resist gear and have no care for high aggro twink one handers or tons of hp/ac gear.

This game really isn't hard and I've never blinked playing my cleric and healing a bronze/banded warrior with two yaks. Yeah a fungi twink makes it easier, but who cares, its more fun with trash geared people.

I second this suggestion! Come and join us! If you need someone to duo with, my druid is currently lvl 30 and parked at Paw soloing gnolls :)
