Hello, my guild of RL friends and I have had an IP exemption for a few of us for some years now. I have just come back into contact with some other old friends that we used to play with who will need their own exemption to play in the same house as they live together.

My question is, if they applied for their exemption but then decided to come and visit us and play here would we all be able to log in using two separate IP exemptions (I'm thinking in reality IP exemptions are really just accounts being flagged to be left out of the IP filtering) or would we need to have us all on the same single exemption? In which case I would have to apply to have them added to the original one.

Also, If they were on the single exemption with all my other guild friends would we be able to have say, two of us in one location on one IP playing and two of us in another place on another IP playing?

Thank you!

(And before anyone says anything, yes we do respect the rules on 2 boxing very closely, so no need to mention that :) )

Short answer no.

oh so you have tried? If not I'd like to see something to back up your answer if possible. I know my other accounts on my world account have been exempted also, and i never applied for them to be.

each account will need its own exemption. They will work at different locations though. So your 2 friends that live together will be able to play at your house with you aslong as all the accounts have exemptions.

Thanks Thulack, I thought it might be per account rather than a group of accounts together on one list.

If this is indeed the case, does this in fact mean two strangers who both have IP exemptions on different forum-applications are able to play on the same IP address?

you wont get 4 exemptions for 1 IP unless your going to have a LAN party and it will only be for that duration. Its just common sense.

Ok Tupakk, but I've got about 8 people listed on my exemption already and that's been there for about 4 years, the GMs never gave me a time limit. My other 2 friends have already applied for there's, its extremely unlikely I will be seeing them any time soon anyway, but from what I can see it will work even if they are on a separate application.

Thanks for your input but I think you are just plane wrong from what I have seen.

Well then awesome but most cases they give one exemption not +3

What does that even mean "one exemption not +3"? Doesn't make sense.

Actually don't worry Tupakk, I've got all the info I need now, thanks guys :)

I think he was saying they don't give people 3+ exemptions. I could be wrong.

I have 3 IP exemptions. I play a lot, my fiancé and daughter play rarely, but are flagged so we can play together. I also have some married friends with exemptions and I've been able to log in their druid to port my fiancé.

This leads me to believe that any and all accounts flagged as exempt have no restrictions* logging on from any IP not being used by a non-flagged account.

*I do recall a friend that had a wife and they had 3 accounts total. 2 were flagged as his. She could play her account with either, but if he was on and she tried logging in his other account it wouldn't let her.
