Good secondary toon?

Which classes are welcome in raiding and are decent in pvp? I have a farming shaman currently as my primary toon

Good ideas. Your main is a caster; your alt would be a melee. Your main is a healer and support class; your alt would be a killer class. It would freshen up the game for you, and give you more of an arsenal to bring to a guild.

Or, if you want to play another caster, wizards are needed in raids and awesome in PvP, solo or group.

Shamans suck in raids and are not great in PvP, they excel in PvE groups. He wants to start a character that excels in other areas is appears.

Yeah i was looking for a class that is average in pvp and also needed in raids? Dont need to be getting a buncha YTs but im not looking to get owned over and over as well.

Wizard might be good. They are great at escaping, and the best defense is a good offense.

Rogues are more vulnerable - no gate, can't channel a gate potion or pumice while being hit. Still, with a little support from your shaman, you can get a good setup.

Bard might be a consideration if you like the idea. Definitely a support class in PvP, with the focus on keeping Selo's running, dispelling targets, and sometimes occlusion/Fufil's/snare; all while keeping your clickies up and not dying, so you have to not get caught...this is what I'm learning. Or what I would be learning if there were still frequent mass PvP battles here.

Was thinking pally, bard, or rogue. I've got around 10k plat to use, not sure what kinda weapons/items I should be targetting though

if you have it down to paladin or bard, then you need to decide what play style you like more. Even if it meansleveling both classes to level 30 or so to get a taste. Personally I find bard more fun and versatile opposed to a paladin. Right now paladins are basically useless in groups, useless in pvp(until decently geared with the right mana pool to be a healbot as their dmg/dps sucks nuts)

bards can solo 1-60, get around quick anywhere, faction song, swarm for exp/plat etc, did i mention move super fast with selos? mana/regen and haste songs, CAN SWARM TO 60 SOLO WITH VENDOR BOUGHT INSTRUMENTS

Bards are exactly what they sound like: EQ hippy musicians who think they'll light the world on fire but go nowhere.

You'll hang your hat on how happy people are that you show up to certain things, and that one time you ran a rogue down who got caught in the middle of an open zone.

Lemme make this easier: when you say "good in pvp", do you mean can get kills/do damage, or do you mean "has some role besides teleporting buffbot"?

If you want to get kills, you need something that can dps. That ain't pally or bard, but it is rogue.

So bard if you're competent and happy to be useful people's taxi, and rogue if you actually want to kill people yourself now and then. (Of the classes you listed)
