Scale Temper

Hey everyone!

I've recently decided to go all-in with blacksmithing on my shaman (mostly because a friend tossed me 100p to finish getting into banded range for our characters).

I was wondering if any of you knew of a good place to farm or vendor dive the blood for the Scale Temper (Froglok, Iksar, and Sarnak)?

I'm not opposed to trying to purchase from other players, though I'm unsure if these things even get looted most of the time...

Any help is greatly appreciated, and for note my shaman is only level 24 (so I won't be deep diving any dungeons anytime soon).

Sarnak blood you can get off the windmill vendor in LOIO, froglok blood from guk/vendors in Innothule.

Iksar blood, though...get more levels and hit Dalnir. You will be killing all the coerced in there to get the coerced iksar (necro) to spawn. It's rare.

Iksar blood also drops off the pirates in FV.

I've gone this route and while froglok and sarnak blood is plentiful, the iksar blood is indeed rare. I had success buying it off a few hardcore Old Seb raiders, because it drops off the Iksar Necromancers there. It drops off the coerced iksar in dalnir as well. I hear it drops from the Iksar slaves in Nurga but I didn't see any in a couple days of killing them there look for it. I've never heard about pirates in FV dropping it, but it is worth making a macro and spamming it there, because druids and wizards are quadding them a lot. I have, never seen the blood, but like people mention, it is rare :)

I just made a button when I was trying to get it together. I have one scale temper and one blood left myself, I need to hunt some down if I need to make more.

I'm too busy paying 1k for every alchemy skill up now though :(

It only drops off the Iksar pirates in FV, not the other race pirates. I leveled my wizard from 32-42 there and got 4 iksar bloods, without trying to just kill iksars.

*And correction I leveled 25-34 off pirates then did drovlargs there to low 40's.

I sent my monk a-hunting and learned that the iksar pirates are pretty damn rare and saw no blood drop from the 2 I managed to spawn in the span of about 2 hours. Miraculously, there were no bards swarming in the zone for those couple of hours...which is a bummer for me, I guess.

In Dalnir I saw about six coerced iksar spawn with some really lackadaisical farming in an hour (and got one blood to drop), so I'd say those are better. You just need to have a way out since it's a one-way zone.

The iksar bandit lord pops very very rarely.

This is starting to seem impossible, so I'm just going to level and hope I stub my tail on some my people's blood I guess.

Do groups even go to Dalnir or is it a BYOG or just be high enough to solo?

Dalnir is BYOG or be able to solo/duo as well as escape. Like I said, get some levels under you. :)

There's usually one annoyingly difficult ingredient in cultural, but some are easier than others. The problem with iksar vs high elf is that there are always people in MM getting essence of moonlights and never anyone in Dalnir or the like getting iksar blood.

what about the forsaken camps in EJ? Those iksar are right around the level range (mid 30's) and there's 3 static camps of them... with no competition as no one is ever there other than transiting to CoM/Trak.

Wiki has no loot listed, because no one kills them - but I'd say it's likely they do drop the blood... couldn't hurt to kill a few.

After much thought I've decided to let everyone know my formerly super top secret location for Iksar Blood.

He drops it every single time and often 2. Bottom of Dalnir 6 min respawn. Easily the best place to farm it.

Froglok Blood - Just go find vendors near Lguk and purchase it for 1p each. Check Grobb, South Ro, Oasis or even EC tunnel vendors. Doesn't seem to drop in Swamp of No Hope or if it does it's extremely stupid rare.

Sarnak Blood - Very common off Sarnaks in Lake. Also found on most vendors in/around Cabilis.

Iksar Blood - Don't waste time with anything except the Coerced Smith in Dalnir.
