Question for high lvl shamans

Since you're already 41, best bet is to do quest till you have faction to turn in CoM books then repeat that step till max ally while leveling in CoM.

Can repeat step 1 a few times if you want to skip a step like the vacation to the sunny beaches of Kerra Isle.

How early are you able to go through the quest to get the Black Fur Boots? can you do that even before lvl 41?

Also, if you do the quest in order does that give you enough True Spirit faction or do you still need to do some faction grinding?

If you do everything, you have enough faction. If you have the faction, you can do the quest.

Don't skip the black Dire part like my dumb ass did. Your faction resets after epic so now I have to go through all the steps again to get my boots.

Also, faction is harder to obtain post velious (as in the max faction goes up) so it takes BD and several Ghiosk turn in's to finish.

Grinding CoM books will make you consider suicide. Do the Ghiosk kills every 4 hours. Or maybe it's 2.

When turning in the book pages from CoM, it doesn't say that my true spirit faction got better, i'm sitting at warmly. Would anyone know why?

Was it the correct spirit? Were you invis? Was he charmed? Did you get quest dialogue for the turn-in?

at 41, grouping at stables looting the book pages while exping was great for me. Do them and whatever woe/envy/marr turn ins you can get ahold of inbetween, then when you can if able, do ghiosk books, those are huge hits. i think around 750 per hit?

Yea 41 is right on target for max faction by the time you are able to get a tear

I did my factioning pre velious, but turn in post velious. So I was max faction warmly, but upon looting a tear post-velious release. I conned the mobs and I was ally faction, was weird wasn't sure if myitem was going to get eaten but it worked. Guessing they just took any shaman who had could not get any better faction and made them ally? maybe for entire faction sets similar? not sure.

Just did my faction this week in a day and a half, the old fashioned way. Fun and easy. You're at the perfect lvl to do it OP. I started it at 37. Completed black dire. Went to com at 40. Got 3 lvls in a stable group and max faction, 6 hoursish.

easy ask ppl and guilds and or sit infront of the portal and camp the elusive, 'human raid mob' a mob of humans going on a fear raid, they spawn pretty regularly.

I figure I would ask with this thread about the Shaman Epic quest but I was told by someone who has a Shaman that you can do the following and still get the epic.

Take a Druid and head over to a port zone such as ButcherBlock and kill Peg Leg to get the Lesser Spirit and the Tiny Gem.
Get the Tiny Gem and make sure the Druid is bind at Freeport, next to the drunk Barbarian and give him the Tiny Gem. This will raise the faction standings with True Spirit.
Zone back to Butcher Block and repeat this process until the faction is maxed out.
Take the Druid over to Fear and get the tear and take the tear to Lord Rak`Ashiir in City of Mist.
Have the Shaman kill Lord Rak`Ashiir and loot his Iksar Scale.
Have the Shaman take the Scale to Spirit Sentinel wolf in Emerald Jungle by the pond to receive your epic!

Is it really this easy and you can skip all the rest or does the Shaman's faction have to be maxed out as well?

From my understanding you have to be at the point where it says you cannot gain anymore faction. Once you are there you can go straight to turning in childs tear, killing CoM boss and turning in the scale to the spirit under the pond.

Yeah that's why I'm repeating woe/envy/marr since it's fairly easy. I want to get the boots just don't know if turning in the fur without gem will work.

Yes, this works and is how I did my epic. I just corpsed about 65 gems in Freeport and kept turning them in until I was max ally. After doing this I killed Black Dire and turned in for my SoW boots. Then I did the Tear turn in and final fight and got my epic. You can go max ally then do the sow boots without issue. Just make sure you do it before turning in for your epic.

I'm sure it's not that hard to get if you know of a Fear raid going on and they are planning on going after Cazic Thule. They have to kill the guards and the guards spawn the Iksar Broodling.

You have to start soloing some of the big mobs when you can like Giants... You can make some decent coin from camping them all day.

I've heard woe from multiple shamans lately about the tear. I was unguilded, made a /who all pofear hot key and spammed if regularly. Send someone a tell asking if they're killing golem and if you could loot the tear if nobody there needs it. This was 8ish months pre velious, when most didn't bother with the golems. It took a couple weeks, but eventually I got lucky. Now that the golems drop 150k+ items and people want the timers on the dolo it may be more difficult. At the end of the day the worst thing that can happen is they say no. Bfd, keep trying. Best of luck to all those in need of tears.

I'm now on this step myself, though not high enough level to enter PoF (just dinged 45).
I'd done the quest up to and including Black Dire, then hung out xp-ing and looting in CoM for a few days (getting a few levels) without maxing my TrueSpirit faction... then yesterday, in the middle of the day, some HL folks (monk named Fallson Hisface comes to mind) was killing reavers near zoneline and Ghiosk popped. They gladly killed him for me and I got the 3 books, which easily maxed my faction.

So now to grind xp and plat to get ready for Fear!

The guy paths after you turn in each gem. It's easier to corpse all the gems and have someone standing there to spam hail him.

It took me 7 turn in's to get maximum from being able to turn in at Kindly.
