How long does it usually take for IP Exemptions to occur? I have been trying to play all day with my girlfriend but no one has answered my petition. Is there a way to contact a GM in game about my issue or some other form to contact someone about this?

it took me about 12 days to get mine I think. They do them in batches every two weeks i believe, not sure when the last ones were done. I wouldn't try to contact a GM in game about your petition they don't like that, you just have to be patient I'm afraid, the wait was definitely worth it though.

Holy crap really? Can't I contact anyone to help me with this? Its not like I have time like this everyday to play.

Yup. Just takes patience bud. The devs of this server are much better than what I used to play on. They are working hard on a lot of content but they recognize that the player base is important. Hang in there and lvl each individually imo. Welcome to the server.

Yeah man, my roommate and I have been waiting about two weeks now. I heard they do them in batches, so... there's that? Just gotta be patient, and rotate time for now.

Nilbog is the only one who handles IP exemptions, so just sit tight, he will get to them soon enough.

Just sit back and chill! People seem to forget that this is a free server that runs only on donations. They will get to it when they get to it! However, keep whining about this on the forums so that they will put you at the bottom of the list!

There is a big difference between whining and this. I am new to the server and im attempting to learn what is required for me to play and how long it will take. I understand there is only one person that handles it and that he is quite a busy person but I really think there should be a system to get these done earlier then every two weeks. Possibly designate someone to do it once a day at least. It would be a huge help to the players that are obviously sharing with others the beauty that is Everquest.

not much of a difference.

I think all IP requests should have to mailed in triplicate so a P.O. Box and have a 3 week waiting period.
Also, your whining

I love how you say that you understand the admin is busy but yet you can't wait the 2 weeks because you are impatient. I also love how you are acting like you can't play for 2 weeks until l this request is completed. There are tones of people on the server to group with. You don't run this server and clearly have no idea what the admins do on a daily basis. You also have no rights to tell them how to run THEIR server. Again just sit back, chill and put your tampon back in.

I think you are providing me with an excellent example of what I should expect from this community. Sad because I originally expected a somewhat mature group and I hope you don't represent the majority.
Im not an idiot and I know exactly how the process all works. I am not commanding them, it was simply a suggestion, I wouldn't even go as far to say constructive criticism.

Dude, like I said you need to chill the FUCK out! This is a mature community. We don't act like little immature brats. Normally I would ignore your trolling. However, I am sick and tired of people new to this community giving the GM's and Admins a hard time. You are not a king and no one will bow to you! Please know your place and know that you are new. Respect the community and you will get it back! It wasn't a suggestion, you are trying to get your way on some thing that isn't going to happen.

I am completely calm, I am not trolling. I am seriously just trying to figure out how it works around here. I DO know that the admins are busy and I respect that as well as the people that answered me directly instead of bashing me. I was just offering my advice and not expecting anything from it. Stop with the disrespect, its how you lose members.

After a quick search ------------------------------------------^ for "exemption",
A recent thread, http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=23976&highlight=exemption , answers your question in no more than 4 short posts. The most informative post being from the guide, Aasimon:
Be aware that an IP exemption request in the forum Zereh mention can take up to four weeks for approval. There are a large number of requests, and they are done in groups. I kindly ask for your patience while your request is in the queue.
Here are a few other threads from the same search of "exemption" :

http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=23301&highlight=exemption

Just a few threads with several simple answers from a five minute research. Conclusion: Patience is a virtue.
If you're not patient to work around their time in order to play this game to your full liking, how are you going to be patient enough to camp your favorite piece of gear for days or weeks on end? It takes time to get ANYTHING that you want in Everquest, that is just simply fact.
Good luck to ya =)

I also love how you are acting like you can't play for 2 weeks until l this request is completed.
As someone else that is also waiting on an IP Exemption I can see where he is coming from. You know how hard it is to play with a girlfriend or in my case wife glaring at you because they want to play to but cant. Or better still you want to play but you cant because your roommate started playing first so your stuck waiting on an exemption to even start playing.
I feel your pain but just have to suck it up and be patient.

So what you are saying is that the GM's should cater to everyone's special needs. Again this is FREE server to play on that is not a pay to win MMO. This is also NOT day spa, those seeking special treatment should go some place else.

The amount of anger in this thread seems excessive.
The amount of anger in this thread seems excessive.
Agreed! However, my anger is driven by the passion for this game and for owners and GM's that have put all this time and energy into it.
I am afraid that at some point they are going to say enough is enough and just close it down.

Wow Yak you might need to seek out a friend and get a hug. Way to much pent up anger. No one is asking for special treatment. There is alot of interest in this project so I can see where people would want to play. You are right in that this is a free server so no one is "demanding" that they get taken care of but for some reason that is the point your stuck on. I was simply sympathizing with the OP. At the same time negative reactions to post like the way your flaming the OP here is bad for the community. I am new to the project so I am probly out of line but cheer up and toss a little respect and consideration around and there will be no reason for anything to close down.
With that how is asking about the IP Exemption process a "pay to win mmo" feature. Unless for some reason you think playing with your friends and family in the same household an unfair advantage?

So much prepubescent anger -- that was a 1999 drop, guys. It may be Classic, but we don't need to implement it here.
