Hi All,

Looking for some tech support to help with in-game video lag. When I PBAE on my bard or do Chardok AE on my wiz I get massive video lag if there are over 40 or so mobs. To be clear, I can still run around, move about, etc., but can't cast any spells and the mobs visually move out of their correct sequence, i.e. when bard PBAE'ing the mobs tend to run off in all directions rather than follow me in a tight bunch.

I play on a laptop I bought back in 2010. It's a Sony laptop with an Intel dual core processor, 8 gig of RAM and good video card for the time. Considering this game was made back in 1999 I would think that the rig I have has the specs to run the game smoothly on any setting regardless of the amount of mobs.

Am I wrong in assuming this?

Or is there a fix I should be using to make the video lag/game run more smoothly, i.e. fix for dual core processors, etc.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I get the same on my Bard, and i have a fairly good system.
DL is one of the worst zones for me with this problem, so i turn down all my settings in Display, it helps a lot

So it may not be a hardware issue then? Any idea if running on a single core help?

I do the following things around areas such as Chardok AOE to help reduce lag:
- Turn off logging
- In EQ settings filter out some of the options (hits / misses / spells cast)
- Turn down/off spell particles

These seem to be the ones that make the biggest difference for me.

Turn off PC and npc names
Lower clip plane distance
Disable logging
Turn off spell effects
Turn off chat spam in the filter section (your hits/spells/other emotes etc)

Thanks for the tips guys. I can do up to 50-60 mobs now on my bard with these changes but anymore than that and I still lag out.

does /serverfilter off work on this server?

On live it cuts down your updates from other players or something.

Hey OP, is your laptop using the integrated graphics or your dedicated card? When you go into options and display, does it list Intel HD xxxx or does it list an NVIDIA / ATI card?

It's an Nvidia card
