Back on RZ in '00/01 (forget which... when did Vel drop?), I found these during a WW raid. MQ'd the BFG quest with a guild ranger just for kicks. We tried using it in sky to jump between islands with *cough* mixed results.
And you can only imagine the havoc you can wreak on a PvP server with a weapon capable of 100' knockback.

I've noticed the knockback really sucks. Anyone have one on live and seen the BFG here in action?

It is definitely really weak compared to live. I mostly played monk on live so didn't have one, but got launched by guildies that had one quite a few times. The knockback on p99 seems like it isn't even like 1% of the effect it had on live.

1. Planking no longer drops
2. The knockback is based on what is available in the titanium game client. I remember being launched across the zone in the planes of power expansion on Proven by Demetrium on Fennin Ro. Its more or less just an ornament on p99 and serves no real purpose I can think of.

The wiki says it still drops but I dunno if the lastest patch droped it out. I haven't had any luck finding it either but isnt common like a skinning rock. Archer's vow person got one recently i thought to.

My war got one just after the 42 patch. it siting on an Island but then they took the servers down to fix the pets so i was wondering if they did something then.

both me and another fail to find at places we found for couple of weeks ago.. seems removed from game ? Devs have not responded either to his question in below link so we have no confirmation yet that the removal has been done:

I wish the devs would confirm. I don't want to buy the MQ nor will I ever. i don't mind looking for them myself, i just don't want to look for something that does not exist.

From what i recall, devs in classic did not state in any patch notes that seaworthy planking ceased to spawn. But i may be mistaken.

Been looking 3 days now at places randomly would give me a seaworthy planking after just 2 hours in net, and havent found any. Seem to be removed.. If anyone finds one please confirm .

We have confirmation that it was found after the latest full patch (v42). Has anyone found one since the hotfix where pet damage was fixed? It seems unlikely that those two issues should have been related. Yet stranger things have happened in Norrath...

ppl ask 30k for MQ now so ya the general opinion is its been removed . I wouldnt sell my plankings for less than 100k since its a must have for any ranger and it might take up to 5 years until you can farm this again.
