View Full Version : If Trump Was Elected, Do You Think He Would Actually Build A Wall?

Now that Trump is the presumptive nominee, I guess this question is worth serious consideration. Do you think Trump would actually build the Wall he refers to on his stump speeches? I'm not even going to get into the weeds with the "make Mexico pay for it" part.

Yes, and Mexico definitely "pays" for it with their debt they already owe us.

Prolly. It'd be nice if the Border Patrol could just be allowed to do their job. Oh and you know who is a big supporter of Donald? The border patrol (http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/03/30/breaking-national-border-patrol-council-endorses-trump-for-president/). Their first endorsement.
It only makes sense, he's spoken out against the NAU and NAFTA, historically. Of course many Reps have as well, got elected, then did nothing. Always gonna do something, something, but nothin gets done. Open boarders falls right into that oppositional position, a matter of sovereignty.
At the same time, conservs and libs may see things a bit differently. But the POTUS isn't a dictator. So what he says he will do and what he can do is yet to be seen, at least to some extent. But I think he will do something if not everything, on that matter.
And before all the same blah blah gets thrown around here, this is something good to keep in mind (https://youtu.be/C_knRyu2ol8). And yeah, F the Rockefellers :p
Maybe your question is if He's really on the level. I like guys like Rand Paul and Duncan Hunter, among others. I probably have more trust for guys like that, though never absolute. But from people close to Donald, and those that have interviewed him time and time again, they seem to think he's on the level. As well, he has a work history of doing what he says in the business world, so he does show some competency, with both success and failure as is a part of life.

Trump may do nothing else, but he sort of has to build that wall should he become prez. If it isn't under construction by year 4, it will be hard for people to take him seriously and it would probably make a 2nd term problematic.
lotta assumptions there tho

Trump second term lmao
The people who vote for Trump don't give a shit about things like facts or reality. "He tellz it like it iz" is good enough for them. All he has to do is walk on stage and say "China" or "Wall", blame liberals and Mexicans, and the rednecks will start chanting "4 more years"

He will begin some construction of some type of wall...
It won't be finished, and it will be a political piece during the next election cycle. Pro-wall versus anti-wall will make up most of the ideology and control the tone of the politick.

More like blame the Democrats for Obama's dumbass and allowing hillary the felon to make it this far. This is more payback than anything else, can't wait for trump to overrule everything Obama did while in office, seriously will be amazing

If the hebs get a wall us goys should too. Many shekles shall be made. Does this mean the libtards are hypocrites and anti-semites for being furious over this? Are the evangelicals crying the death of Conservatism Inc. upset about Israel's wall?

Obama should have been impeached too, but Congress doesn't seem to care about him committing war crimes with drones.
The thing about Trump is almost nobody in Congress likes him. And if Trump does only one of the hundreds of illegal policies he's proposed, they'd have no problem ousting him.

A lot of our foreign policy violates International Law. The reason is because were the strongest nation in the world and they can't force us. But its not a moral argument that what we are doing is just and right.
The pentagon allows up to 50 people as "collateral damage" when droning high priority targets. Engage in this thought exercise with me:
Some crazy American blows up a school in Iran, killing hundreds. The government of Iran bombs this guys apartment complex killing a 10 innocent people and wounding others. Iran argues there is always collateral damage in the war on terrorism.
How do you think America would feel about Iran and its war on terror?
Just because we can get away with it, doesn't mean we're smart to.

Prior to Benghazi, were there 20 attacks on embassies and 87 deaths under President George W. Bush (reference (http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2014/may/12/john-garamendi/prior-benghazi-were-there-13-attacks-embassies-and/)) - why are people not outraged and calling for Bush to be arrested? Couldn't be partisan politics? Naaaah.

Off the top of my head, deporting American Muslims, torturing suspected terrorists and their family members and I'm pretty sure carpet bombing sovereign nations was an idea he had. I never took the guy seriously enough to make special notes about all of his shitty ideas, but you don't have to look hard to find them.
But you don't really care anyway.

You literally stated nothin illegal in this most likely drug induced rant.

Here we go, so first of all these are all just ideas, he hasn't done any of these things, although hillary HAS done illegal/treason-like actions. Second of all, he never said he'd deport Muslim Americans, he'll deport ILLEGAL MUSLIMS and ILLEGAL Mexicans, emphasis on the word ILLEGAL. Muslims and Mexicans are the biggest issues when it comes to illegal immigration bar none, so of course they are talked about more than let's say illegal Europeans. Also, if Trump vetos the torture acts Obama chose not to do, they'd no longer be illegal, and it'd be used in cases VITAL to NATIONAL SECURITY. I'm beginning to think you haven't actually listened to any of his policies, and maybe you're relying off bullshit coverage? Maybe CNN? Worldstar hip hop interviews on the street? Also if you don't want to carpet bomb our enemies you're probably better off moving to Canada, trump wouldn't be the first or last to do so.

I have listened to his policies. Everything Trump said, he's also said the opposite at some time. I guess it is possible to please everyone at once. Won't affect me, in the unlikely chance he's president, I'll deport myself to Canada.
As far as the wall goes, Jon Oliver covered that topic quite well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vU8dCYocuyI
