blacked out screen

i can see the server log in just fine, but my character select screen and my game play screen(pressed "enter" and it logged me in) are blacked out. anyone know anything about this? im essentially computer illiterate.

If you're smart enough to get onto an emulated server you're not so computer illiterate. ;)

I'd start with the one that seems to trip the most people up; you need to make sure your in-game resolution is set to what your monitor is (http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=23351).

What's your native desktop resolution?

Open up eqclient.ini and change the windowed/fullscreen resolution to your native desktop resolution.

If that doesn't work, try running the game in compatability mode and 640 x 480 resolution.

If that doesn't work press alt + enter some time before the server select screen.
