SuperMicro servers make me cry a little inside. They're horrible. Poor thermal design FTL.

There is a floppy drive on the SM if you look closely, Omnimorph. Right-hand side.

That server was originally a tower clone with a supermicro motherboard.. but I converted it to a 2U to put it in that rack.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but these servers aren't classic. Its been a while, but I believe in classic they looked more like this:

Note the DSL/Cable modem capability. Maybe if you guys get some donations, we can upgrade. I know I'll send in my $5!

I wonder how many players in the same zone would crash that beast...

I wonder how many players in the same zone would crash that beast...

A single zone can only be processed on one core. Overloading the same zone would lock up one core trying to process it, while the rest of the zones would be spread out among the other 15 cores.

So ideally, a huge event in ec or something would crash ec, but wc would run like a charm?

That was the case in our latest GM Event with 350 people in one zone, but all other zones ran flawlessly.

Does it have a man trap? How many lines coming in?

And are there "SF trained Guards" "disguised" as IT folks there?

Rogean
12-22-2010, 01:58 AM
Actually it does have a man trap, I got caught and had to wait for the first door to close.

How many lines into the data center? I dunno probably a dozen or so 10G Links.

In otherwords, the hardware is over-qualified, so we're good to go.
