Screen brightness

When i run p99 my screen brightness on both my monitors gets insanely bright. It effects the background and even other applications that are running. Does anyone have any idea what i can do to prevent this from happening?

But why would the running of EQ highjack BOTH of my screens (one of which clearly wont have eq on it)?

Why wouldn't it affect both screens?
