Aegis of Life sucks

10 days straight camping the spawn for at least 4 spawns/day (~13h+) and about 4 days camping it 24h/day. I've had 7 live Grimrots and 0 undead Grimrots. Can someone remind me why I'm subjecting myself to such torture? Please?

Well, the spawns are so spread out that I could afk to work on the house during my vacation week. Since no one else was camping, I was able to kill phs in between pressure washing, tiling (backsplash and floor), replacing broken straight valves under the sink, replacing shutters, spackling, and painting as well as stripping, cleaning, and putting a textured coating on a deck. So... I definitely had better stuff to do. I'm just trying to convince myself to keep it up when I don't have the luxury of dedicated camping now that I'm going back to work.

Did this one pretty easy with Eldd and Ello (Cleric).

I've had 7 live Grimrots and 0 undead Grimrots.

Oh, you don't know the timer trick? You don't stick around for the spawn after the ph kill.
We had 2 spawns exactly as needed. 1 live Grimrot and 1 dead Grimrot. 2 days apart. Took 4 days total. Contact me in game and Id gladly discuss it.

I only saw undead ones when I camped never ever saw a live one

years later someone helped me find a live one up - and I traded for my second shield

keep at it tho - this shield is well worth it, amazing back item for a cleric or paladin

The "trick" may increase the chances, but I don't want to get anyone's hopes up. I was doing the "trick" for 12 days without luck. I'm not sure if it makes a difference, honestly. I'm starting to wonder if the undead spawn is broken for some reason. However, I think someone got it to drop about a month ago, so it doesn't seem like it's broken. I'd say I have bad luck, but I think that's the problem (ZERO luck).

Yeah I would hate to have people get disappointed if it didnt work perfectly.

We went 1/1 live and 1/1 dead. Then helped a friend go 1/1 dead. (Besides placeholders). So maybe it was a bit o' luck on our end.

This has worked 4/4 now on P99 blue since we got here.
My cleric friend has seen 1 live and 1 dead. And my two other friends in game both got the dead Grimrot to spawn (and never saw another live one). Obviously plenty of placeholders still occur. In thos 4 tedious accounts, nobody ever had the wrong Grim spawn. Maybe its just pure luck. I doubt it though.

I told canis and he said it did not work for him. I let 2 red players know, not sure of outcome.

But as with live...

1- Kill all the laying down putrid sekeles. For faction.
2- there is a wolf spawn (right) and dwarf skele spawn on left (and another one by dwarf) ... kill all of those as they could have another laying down putrid skele spawn for extra faction.
3- If by the dwarf the named Gnoll spawns, leave it for the Monks and their quest.
4- The STANDING Putrid is the key. He spawns only every 3 hours and 12 minutes. Under a tall table-like structure.
5- Kill him at exactly 6-8 am game time or 6-8 pm game time.
6- You dont have to wait around, just come back 3 hours later and kill the laying down putrid for faction while you wait for main spawn.
7- In exactly 3h:12m the Standing will spawn. If you killed him between 6-8 pm, you have a 20% chance the Living Gimrot will be the spawn. If you killed him between 6-8 am you have a 20% chance it will be the Undead Grimrot. They harmtouch, be smart.
8- So never kill the standing unless is between 6-8. Never ever.
9- You dont have to wait around, just come back 3 hours later.
10- You will have to fix your faction no matter what, when you have the parts bring an enchanter with you. Find the priest outside of the qeynos gates and have him root and memblur/unagro him so you can turn in lots and lots of gold for faction... its like 300pp worth of gold, but u can run to bank inside easy enough. With no root/memblur you have to chase the bastard around, its a pain.
11- DO NOT TURN IN UNLESS YOU ARE WARMLY.

**On live there were conflicting stories about whether it was 5-8 or 6-9 game time. So I was always just safe and did the 6-8 variety.

For the record, I did the above for over 16 days without any luck (camping the spawn 12+ hours each day and about 5 days for 24 hours). This was prior to last patch, so I'm not sure if anything was broken. I saw 10 live spawns, 0 undead spawns.

Which is damn odd, cause I did it once after you and me had talked and you had stated that you were already doing exactly that method before I had even told you. But you hadn't posted it in this thread.

And the person I helped aw eek later had 4 spawns... 3 putrids and 1 dead grimrot.
