New player back from the beginning

Hello there,

Just found out about this project.

I started everquest when it launched, and for a few years until luclin overwhelmed me and i just fell completely behind. It also made the game different, and less enjoyable with the eternal power creep.

I've played one of the few erudite shadowknights on tallon zek, up till i managed to gather people to help me do my epic quest (including keeping the chest and earring), which was my greatest accomplishment since i was a relatively casual player.

So hearing that this server is limited to velious brings back alot of great memories, so i am curious about how the red server is going. Of course i forgot 90% of what i used to know, but that's also the fun of rediscovering classics.

Not sure yet what i'll go in for, i've always envied trolls as an erudite sk (as you can guess), so maybe i should just go for that, though i guess they are very common. Then i'll see if i can stomach EQ again :P

Its a time of change on the red server. Good time to get started. I really enjoy it. I am no raider, so the fun of it for me is levelling. Lots of good folks to play with and pvp if you want it and occasionally when you don't.

You can do that troll SK. Tank classes are generally not over abundant here, so you should be able to find a group pretty regularly. While all tank classes are not that common, if you really want to stand out, play a paladin. Not many of those around and they are great group tanks.

The difficulty can be a shock when getting back to the roots of gaming from the EZ mode MMOs that are published today :)
P1999 is a merciless master, and a true gift from the P1999 team. I don't even touch my PS4 or play anything modern.

There are often players grouping and playing of all levels in all zones across the world, it is miraculous. I, like you, had abandoned hope, of reliving the EQ glory days.

And if your experience is like mine, you will be a lot better at the game this time around.

Thanks for the welcomes. I've gotten the troll to level 4 over the week-end. Even got some help to find my way in grobb and get me started.

Good lord it's a serious trip down memory lane :). And you guys are right, modern MMOs, even with their insane graphics, have gone away from the source...and what better way to confirm that than going back to the original.

Of course the red server ain't populous, but i think that was even the case back then on the zek servers, and it probably helps making a tight community. At least i hope.
