Was gonna make a Necro mostly for soloability and decent PvP IIRC. Really don't want to try and start up as a melee class or something else I'll struggle to get groups or level for.

Necromancer would be a great first class for the server. Eventually you could use your necro to farm gear/plat for a more core raiding class.

Smaller population would also work in your favor, since there are more camps available to farm.

There is usually more then 100 people online during prime time. A lot of people just quit playing on this server so their are a lot of end game loots up for grabs!

Tell your friends from blue they should come over to red and try to claim some pixels! What do you guys do with your pixels on blue anyway?? At least on red you can get all geared up then use that gear to kill people, it is a lot of fun.

There are not really many people grouping on this server at lower levels, if they are grouping they are usually alts of people who know each other. Expect that the pvp as you level up will be very lopsided, almost everyone you fight will have better gear then you, good thing you are playing a necro.

There are a lot of fairly unintelligent people on this server and they tend to act like they just got off the short bus. You just need to ignore them for the most part.....

Open the client twice my friend. Just make sure one client is logged into blue, and the other red. ;)

Soloing is very slow exp compared to grouping. Even a duo makes things go much faster.

I suggested years ago to up the solo xp for this reason, so that the guy soloing holds on long enough for another guy to log on, so it doesnt set off a chain reaction of log offs. Making suggestions here is mostly like talking to a wall. They dont seem to give much of a fuck. My 2 cents is do not give a fuck either and find another game to play thats more worthy of your time. You missed the window of opportunity where investing time here was worth it. Arguably, this was never.

in case you're new to red, you can ignore all this guy's posts he mostly just talks to himself and hasn't played on this server for probably years, if he ever did in the first place. nobody really remembers anymore.

I soloed most of the time on my SK on VZ live with snare kiting and I'm confident I can solo on red as a necro. Not sure I would have the patience to try a class that relies on grouping and I never got high level on a pure caster so I'll enjoy doing it while the game mechanics slowly come back to me.

I started about a week ago as an Iksar Necro. A lot of my time has been soloing. This is my first experience playing EQ, so I'm not sure what it feels like to be on a populated server. Sometimes, I get a little discouraged because it gets lonely and a little overwhelming, but I've had the privilege to find a few people my own level and grouped with them.

The people I have met in game, groups and random encounters, have been fantastic. Many people are helpful towards noobs and give friendly pointers. Overall, my experience has been positive. I just hope that I begin seeing more people as I move out of the noobie zones; I mean, that's the point of an MMO, right? Massively multiplayer. ~100 people isn't massive, but I'm having fun.

I hope you're enjoying your playtime, hit me up if you wanna DP some mobs with another Nec.

they also fixed the night only spells to be night only, i guess the fix should have been reverted already but well i soloed a necro to 59, it wasn't too bothersome

People raid on red? All I see is sub 100 population and everybody trash talking in OOC when YT pops.

That said, not too concerned about raiding. Just wanna have some fun while wearing the nostalgia glasses. Not sure I could pull off the kind of poopsocking I used too when I was 14yo and raiding errnight.
