Are any casters on P99 able to solo in PoM? I remember it being a huge deal on EQMac, but that was with level 65, AA's, and boxing.

All 4 should be able to solo at least up to Rat mobs (which drop Knights). I know Enchanters can solo puppet audience members too.

Enchanters with a Shaman or Cleric can probably duo most everything else.

Necros who are well geared can solo everything except Puppets, Horses, Stomples and probably 22.

Enchanters can solo everything except Puppets, Horses and Stomples.

Magicians probably do alright in the rat maze and that's about it.

Wizards also do alright.

Druids with charmed pets and shamans with Torpor and slow do alright in the zone as well.

Once you have Allure, you can start in the forest.

You can quad the forest. Doesn't work anywhere else, though.

Beware of the pansy traps and the two casters (one roams, other is stationary). You can't just go clicking willy-nilly in PoM. Things could happen to you.

If you are determined to be there, you may as well kill Dinner for the King Cod Card (watch out for the chandelier gnomes) and get your Deck of Spontaneous Generation.

Just be warned, this zone is perfectly awful for the following:
Exp (bad)
Drops (rare)
Respawn time (72 min)
Quests (tied to drops)

It's good for:
Exploring
Laughing at what everything is named
Tricks

You think Dixl Drool is weird?

Here is some of the stuff you can find in PoM:

bishop thingy
I Like This One
TwentyTwo
YOU
SHALL
NOT
PASS
Popple Dop
a moldy sausage (it's a flower)

EXP in PoM is actually incredible for 46-53 killing the mushrooms in the forest. However fair warning... 46-53 getting CotH'd up there will kill you because of larger aggro range and even if you do get up there you will have 72 min respawn on those mushrooms. For me it was great. I'd log on an alt clear the shrooms and log off. Maybe come back in 1.5 hours.

Gotta second the forest exp for sub 55s. I swarmed a bard 51-56 and quadded a wizard 51-56 1/2. At 54 it slows down a lot. Most of the time as I hit 56 I'de sac back down but it was still about 2-3% a quad easy.

A 55 druid can solo Alice 4 hobbits for thrones, and most crown mobs. Enchanter same, just depends if you get that un lucky charm break mid fight ur dead for sure. Epic mage with a sham can solo most, or cleric but I prefer slow/torpors. Necros can be super crafty loading up tons oof dots then using shadow bond to heal pretty while using mana free vp staff soul well click if not regular vexing. By time u have to heal pet ur dots are doing 400+ dmg a tick plus pet dmg

This is how I did 4a hobbits:
1. snare split
2. shadowbond and send in pet
3. splurt/pyro/vexing
4. keep up shadowbond+vexing
5. jump in to offtank with deflux when necessary
6. FD every now and then

Do you have a Necro Book Pet? I'm wondering how much differently those stack up.

When I did Halflings like that it was a very close fight every single time.

I watched a necro do exactly what @polishanarchy said with no necro book just fine. once the dots are loaded up, and you have vexing/shadowbond pumping. pet tanks good, and the dots really really start raping the health quick, as does pet. fd a few times, never saw him have to run in and tank a few hits though.

I do have focus pet. Tap tanking might not be necessary, but I like to keep my pet's health above a certain point if I can manage it.

Interesting. Last couple times I did it, I ended up burning 100% of my mana and both myself and pet were at 50% or less when the fight ended. Maybe I should try again with a different strategy.

I did basically what you did except I would root and DoT before sending pet in. Maybe I was burning too much mana using Cessation or Envenomed Breath.
