Yet another monk twink thread 7K budget

Hey guys,got a monk lvl 19 inside kurns,2 wu sticks + WQS,hp rings,azure sleeves and other slots filled with cured silk.
So ,with around 6/7k,i was planning going for SCHW as haste.The point i should i try to get some blak pantherskin gear? worth it or anything else u guys advice ?

Haste plus WQS first ... Then cheap but lightweight gear as finances allow.

You should buy haste - I would get my hands on a Stave of Shielding if I was you as well.

I'd go for a FBSS or such over SCHW. Once youre high enough level epic is going into hands slot and staying there (monk epic is super easy)

Stave of shielding is a great buy

Haste and weapons is basically all you need as a monk

Thx for answers,got myself SCHW because it s cheaper than Fbss and i feel like epic is not that close as i only play p99 for a bit more than a month,i dont know anyone and stuff.
I was planning WQS till 30 then peacebringer or ifs ? and keep the trance sticks to level 1hb.Any interest in SoS before 50 ?
Besides,is cloack of shadows worth or should i just go for any hp cloak?
Guess the other parts will just be cheap filler and i ll keep money to MQ what parts of epic is doable,havent looked too much into that yet.

Silver Chitin Hand Wraps(3kish) + Peacebringer(2.5-3k). Tar goo strands are good value for bracers, wolf-fur slippers for magic boots(only 200ish plat these days).

I really wouldn't recommend SoS at this level.

so lvl up to 21,WQS + schw seem to work nicely after dmg cap.Guess i ll go for peacebringer as next up.

Have you got any tink bags or at least a large soiled bag to keep some bandages/food in? Once you got haste and a decent ratio weapon and some cheap jewellery, would some weight reduction bags be more beneficial than further gear which you can passably/passively collect while adventuring?

If you are still 19/20ish you can fill most your slots with mesh and pick up xp in upper guk at the same time. Lots of high value low weight gems to loot there too!

You'll soon be able to kill snow cougars for their earrings.

Feet looks like the only slot that would be running (lol) empty. Perhaps this is the next slot to invest in?

Shimmering terror hide boots are cheap (500ish) with nice stats..but a little heavy (2.0) ..awesome velium graphic

This. Haste and weapons are all you need. SoS is best ratio weapon you can get your hands on, though sub-10 it sucks and sub-20 it is basically just a knuckle duster. Thereafter it cannot be beat. A 2h will of course land you less riposte and DS dmg if you are soloing or in a terrible group.

DWing only really comes into its own and start beating out 2handers in late lvl50s-60 as explained in this:

Yeah, just use a Peacebringer (or better) until you get epic. Then switch to Fist/SoS.

this is all you will need in reality. fill your other slots with useful stats as you get more money and levels but if you wanted to you could level to 50 on whatever 2 hander you find to buy (peacebringer, ifs, i even took my wqs on my first monk to 56 when someone gave me an ifs for free because they felt bad) then switch to sos/fist on blue sos is cheap as fk because therea re 10 million of them.

tl:dr weapon, haste, switch to sos at 50ish or when you get your epic, dont worry about other slots

Got an adamantite band,will replace with 2xhp rings.Need some magic boots and peacebringer then guess i will be set.
I didnt mention it but i will be soloing a smuch as possible ,no idea how far i can g w/out fungi. Time will tell!

As a guideline they are useful, but I wouldn't put too much trust in such formulas, especially when they produce similar figures for different weapons.

The formulas don't consider the relative value of damage bonus to weapon ratio, which varies depending on the combatants atk vs avoidance/ac scores.

When you have two options and the 'dps' figures are close, it is probably better to make a choice based on other factors, such as attainability, push, riposte damage (both for and against), etc.

The data compiled in the link I sent is from actual players, testing these weapons out, i.e. empirical data. This formula might very well be wrong(or be incomplete).

Actually it's just calculations and the author lists the formula he used on theright side of the page:

DPS = (weapon damage x 2 + Damage Bonus)/(Weapon Delay)
Damage Bonus = (Character Level - 28)/3

The numbers on his sheet though are not damage per second[/] though. They are damage [b]per deci-second. Weapon delay is displayed as 10ths of a second, so to arrive at a DPS number you must either divide the delay by 10 or multiply tue result by 10. Of course for comparing one weapon vs another this doesn't matter, it's just wrong. In any case this is why the number I posted for L29 is 10x the number listed for L30 on his sheet ^^

The only case you can make for the PB post L29 is weapon swapping for free offhand attacks. If you wanna do that, more power to ya, you will maximize DPS. If you just play normally and do t enjoy clickfest then dual SoS beats out PB for fromn L29.

How well tested is this model for DPS? Are the differences in values it produces for different weapon set ups proportionate to the differences produced for different weapon set ups in parses?

Is it really representative enough of 'real' dps for comparison sake that it can give a value for dps that is accurate within 1% of error?

The reason I say get a SoS is because even if it is "sub optimal" at certain level ranges, you will never sell it and it will be a staple for your monk for most of your monking career. Plus with the Chardok exploit (proxy groups) there are about 500000000000 of them on the server and sell for like 1k now

I used a Peacebringer for a long while, fantastic weapon and an awesome buy. But it can be hard to resell...and you will definitely outgrow it in your 50's.

Honestly dual wield vs two hander is a lifestyle decision more than a dps decision.

I don't know anything about monks but my general advice would be to go for items that will last you until you're level 60. That means, no SCHW, no peacebringer. Get haste in your belt/cape slot, and save up for an IFS. SoS wouldn't be a horrible choice either. Worry about armor later outside of stuff you can get from grouping, I'd put tinkerer bags ahead of armor when gearing up. Who cares if one weapon or another is marginally better at low levels, you won't spend very long at those ranges anyways. Time spend auctioning items you've replaced that don't sell easily is time you could have been leveling or gearing up, and I guarantee the net loss of time is worse than any marginal DPS or stat increase would make in your leveling. The gear you have now is enough to hit 60 in no problem. You play on blue, you can hit 60 naked.

confirming a modest haste item and WQS will let you solo very efficiently/quickly while naked (did so from 24 to 30 so far and laughing my ass off)

I found the guards in Highkeep great xp soloing 33-38ish ..even up to 40 with some top floor guards..awesome xp and loot..can bank and vendor right in zone
