An actual great use for VR head sets it looks, but not really being "VR" as you are simply looking through the camera on your drone. But as if you are virtually inside the drone, through FPV.

Can we not have one nice thing without turning it into a way to sexually objectify a man or woman?

Never mind I know the answer to that.

She assaulted a minor (the kid was 17 at the time she was like 23ish). Flying a drone with a camera isn't illegal especially in a public space.

Nothing funny about this. The rabid entitled feminist called the police 3 times reporting a fake crime, assaulted a minor, lied about it to the police who initially believed her because of a blatant double standard until video evidence proved her wrong. She was let off with a slap on the wrist. If the 'genders' had been reversed this would be a headline in every paper and the male wouldn't be walking out of court with probation and fast tracked expungement.

Kid should have knocked her the f out in the name of equality.

Though the guy handled it like a total wuss (I can't watch it again, hurts so much laughing), er "knocking her out" two wrongs don't make a right. I think it was more she was really-really turned on by it lol, but her feminist ideology conditioned her to react over the top (a guess). When I watch that, I see total role reversal, and it's just hilarious.

Also I take it all with a grain of salt. Either one of them could have been lying, he could have been flying it 12ft over her hovering. He could have been 50ft up flying by ... or orbiting her from there. And to make it worse, he makes a vid naming names and has it go viral. Even if she is 100% at fault, they are still both idiots, and just something for a judge to figure out imo. But still good for a laugh, no one really got hurt.

Edit: or maybe there was another girl on the beach, and the drone spent just toooo much time on the other girls end of the beach ;)
Yes girls go crazy like that, I remember my teen years hah. Nothing has changed... well apart from more girly boys now.

Yep, some of them do, troll. Some like bad boys that are mean to them, then nice, then mean again. some like to fight for make-up sex etc. Some will insult you because they like you. All kinds of women in the world, and you have no idea what kind that was. Some women even like younger guys. When I was 17 I had a 28yo gf :P Liked to wear leather and had a huge blue/white Mohawk. She was always good for a ride on my motorcycle.

Yawn, bringing your trollings over from another thread. My point is we don't know what's going on. Oh, another vote for knocking her out, dumbass. You want to beat the shit out of people that pull your shirt? You are hysterical. Let me make this clear since you have zero idea what personal responsibility is. The video is not in question. You are. You. You. What you said about it. Shows about you. "She was probably turned on." You're sick dude. Get help. I see what people say about you now.

No, you only bring yourself to question. My responses were random stuff to a dumb comment, to "knock her out" (and I wasn't overly mean to the poster about it, we agree sometimes), which amounts to we don't know what went on really. You ignored that and took it seriously and went after me, completely ignoring what I was replying to and the point I was making over his comment. You must then think it would have been fine to knock her out as you had nothing to say about it but only go after me. Your jackboots are shiny as can be, bad troll.

Though the guy handled it like a total wuss

Maybe he is? Doesn't matter. He handled that situation in the smartest way possible, video evidence for the cops he knew were on their way. If a man gets into physical altercation with a woman and strikes her, he's going to jail without question. The cops were on her side as it was and only that video that got her arrested.

What exactly would you have done differently?

Of course I think this guy is a manipulative psychopath. I was wondering if that video showed exactly what he wanted to show and nothing else. And I found this later in the comments:

Drone-Flying Austin Haughwout Charged With Assaulting Police (http://www.courant.com/breaking-news/hc-clinton-drone-teen-arrest-0724-20150723-story.html)

"Haughwout was yelling and flailing while attempting to get to the door, and when officers attempted to take Haughwout to the ground, one saw that he was clutching a GoPro camera in his left hand, the report said. He continued to yell and was trying to hit his head into the floor and nearby door, refused to stand up and was yelling "help me," the report says. Several officers had to carry him to the booking area past the front lobby, the report said.

He was taken to the Middlesex Hospital Shoreline clinic after he vomited in the booking area of the police department, the report said. While there, staff found a cellphone hidden in his underwear, according to the police report."

Well we really don't know what happened. This is one side of the story. All we saw is one small point of the confrontation, and then him whining about it all throwing it into the court of public opinion rather than a court of law. I cant derive innocent or guilty opinion from one persons verbal account and a tiny bit of video, it looks to me to be entirely childish at that.

I take everything he said with a grain of salt, his account can be purely conjecture, or simply a trap/lie even. It happens. We have no real proof that "the cops were on her side" because he didn't provide any, just said that. We don't know if she called the cops twice and didn't show up. We don't know if he was just minding his own business and flying 50ft over the beach or whatever altitude he said. We saw no witnesses, only the video of a small point in the confrontation.

Seriously though, regarding your question what I would do, funny it may be to some with what did happen (no one got hurt), knocking her out over it would not be my reaction if that's what you are phishing for. And I'm quite well trained for physical confrontation to do so, and my training says it's not a good thing to do, to knock them out, death may occur, easily.

What would I do? I've been attacked by all sorts. Same as I always do in situations like that (and again, we know little about this situation), incapacitate and retreat, 100% has worked every time. Doesn't need to be something crippling or that which risks death, but giving enough time to remove yourself from the situation. Any defense training class is going to teach you that on day one. Day two on how not to even be in the position to be a victim which works marvelously.

Yeah, honestly, I hadn't seen that, good find. That's all I'm saying, you never know. And being the case, like I was saying, there wasn't really anything in the vid I posted that nailed it that his story was true or even false for that matter. Other than it was imo so hilarious, in the way the guy just rolled over and then whined. But looks like the guy is just that way, got himself in a lot of trouble. They should probably drop any charges against that woman imo. Likely his first victim... or should be looked into again.

Now back to race coverage :D

I wanna build one, next year possibly. I've seen some other race vids, but the ones in the original post was probably the best of them that I've found so far. I was looking for FPV car racing too, but nothing really around like that as being really sports emergent wise.

The judge 'figured it out' by giving her a slap on the wrist. Doubt she learned a lesson or that thinks what she did was wrong/illegal.

Two wrongs don't make a right?

Since when is defending yourself from a violent assault wrong, hell, its not even illegal. Letting someone get away with assault is wrong, defending yourself isn't. That slooter is lucky George Zimmeraman wasn't there.

All you saw was a video of "an assault" underway, not from the beginning. This guy showed his true colors in later incidents, he's a nut case as well as his family, seriously nuts, batshit crazy. I highly-highly suspect he provoked the assault intentionally, if he didn't outright instigate the assault.

Watching these in person is amazing. I have a few friends that are into it (and compete nationally). Find someone doing this, they usually have extra headsets you can tune in to watch them fly, its pretty pretty damn awesome to watch in person. They do crash a lot too (bumping into each other, gates, other obstacles), and the crashes are usually pretty spectacular.

Daywolf
04-06-2016, 12:25 PM
Yep, and they are pretty durable with their crashes, apart from slamming straight into a brick wall. Most cases they just break props, which are a couple bucks each. The DIY's look the best way to go, then just have a lot of extra parts like when a motor does get smashed or whatnot. And as fast as they go, around 60mph, 2ft off the ground which seems like 120mph, it's amazing they hold together at all.

I found this one yesterday too, though it's not a quad, but a glider. May as well post it. Space Glider - FPV to Space and Back! (https://youtu.be/rpBnurznFio). Beats the model rockets I built as a teen hehe. Looked into it, damn FAA. Being UHF, looks like a HAM license is needed in the US, technical class.

As for buying a drone, other than building racers, I like this one the best: Busted Wallet Review - Yuneec Typhoon Q500 4K (https://youtu.be/W0xa5rCOpaw). There are mainly two models among the top sellers in this class (large camera drones), with a third being close. But lots of vids comparing this vs the DJI Phantom 3. But the Q500 is a lot quieter, has a built in tablet display which means no/less computer crashes as the other has (not a critical failure), and it's a slower flight speed but much smoother. I see a lot of good vids made with it.

The phantom is pretty aggressive though, and the 4K camera is about the same, though the Q500 you can detach and use as a regular handheld cam which I'm about in the market for to upgrade from my current cam an older canon eos. Though if chasing something fast, like a flock of birds, or water skiers, the phantom would probably do that better.
