The seemingly unbeatable pve machine that was known as Empire has finally fallen, the brothers of the resistance can sleep good tonight knowing that no dragons will come to harm in norrath. Needless to say the battle has been long and hard. In the darkest hours we decided to send in our secret weapon, a weapon so powerful it shall never be used unless you are willing to loose everything.

Knowing that the entire Red99 project was on the line we decided to risk everything and send the secret weapon into play. Disguised as a goofy guy nicknamed "The Weasel" he started pounding away at the application form, he crept closer and closer with each application. Denied over and over but sooner or later the weasel found a way, the weak link was exposed when Cyren had his burgers flaring out all over the public forums, the weasel smelled blood and struck!

Once successfully penetrated it was a smooth ride, the weasel sent tells, diplomacy quested, danced and sung (http://coreserver.net/stuff/Sektor%20Cringeworthy%20Rap.wav) as the moral of the army of warm bodies crumbled around him.

We are happy to announce that not more then 1 month after successfully penetrating the ranks of Empire the Weasel has managed to wipe the entire plague of bluebie scum off the server.

The weasel found a way, he always does.

Sektor joined empire and found out that nirgon had some heavy material against empire . He then talked to nirgon and convinced him to drop the bomb on empire .
Shortly after nirgon submits a petition with all this information . Empire claims they are going to retire and disband . And the weasel has struck again

Nirgon didn't drop any bomb. But the beef was enough to suck 1 or 2 percent of remaining fun out of the game maybe a few weeks earlier than the decision would have been made. Burnout had already set in way before Nirgon got Littlefingered.

Similar to the state of staffing and Rogean/GM participation in the project/forums hitting record lows since the GG war/doxxing/GrocerGate incident.

It was, having to log on and run an army of undergeared alt clerics to Velious Dragons sucks.

Very few main clerics stick around, it's a boring thing being in a CH chain for 4 hours and having to constantly pay attention, real props to the ones who could pull it off.

Let alone Sleepers Tomb, where there is 0 loot for them.

Kunark was a joke. In Nihilum you raided 1 day a week for DKP, which went for like 4 hours and required almost 0 concentration. Only suckers showed up to trakanon raids.

skyshrine design was ok in theory but mobs and itemization was shit. concept was shit. level range also shit. implementation shit. waste of a possible seb 2.0.

Alright TOV criticism probably not a good starting point at all when talking velious flaws. Esp for the year it was released. I get its unfair to put it up against post-classic era.

But if you compare it zone-for-zone to Kunark, it leaves much to be desired.

They worked hard on that Necropolis zone in. I heard it was so hard to place those 4 traps at entrance they just said fuck it

Velious is cool, but you are out of your mind if you think it didn't need polish compared to the cohesive gem that was Kunark.

Take Crystal Caverns. waste of zone due to no cool itemization. And before you say "its low lvl". Guk is low level, guk has meaningful items even in Velious. ghoulbane is cool and meaningful for a good quest and so are frog crown and FBSS and SSB. even yaks.

Why does Crystal Cavern have fuckall items after all that design of the zone?

Why not make Icewell a guk 2.0 itemization wise and expand the design? let people have some fun doing something besides farming gems. I guess those gear sets killed any creativity the devs had.

Kunark just feels more like a continuation of classic, very cohesive, immersive kick ass itemization and camps. etc.

Where is earring of essence in Velious? BoH? Where is all the cool stuff outside of raids and armor sets?
