WEST FREEPORT -- From the announcement of the death of EverQuest Next (Mar. 13, 2016; RIP), it has become imperative to figure out what to do while we wait for the release of Pantheon. Before we get to that, can we take a moment to recognize SOE's foreshadowing that EQNext was never going to be released? If your game is completely built around the idea that it's going to be next, and forever and always known as "Next"; you know, in the future...I'm just sayin', jet fuel can't melt steel beams; Bush, towers, 9/11; 7/11 was a part-time job, and EverQuest Next was never going to be released, but I digest. Back to the subject at hand.

While you aren't busy donating to Brad McQuaid's patreon, hoping for special status for the "next" game, I can only assume that you're reading this because Project1999 is your choice of poison, and you want some friends. Your taste in games is like a fine wine, which makes no sense, but I graduated from a state college; Bill Shakespeare isn't writing this you know. If you were smart enough to pick a game with dated graphics but superior game play, then I'm assuming you know what you want in life; you've got shit figured out. You're down to eat Ribeye instead of Filet Mignon, cause you know the former has a bit more fat, tastes better, and is cheaper in comparison.

Now that you're hungry AND looking for a guild, let me be frank. Venerate does not cater to every type of gameplay; in fact we don't cater at all -- you'll have to find someone else to fix those tuna and cucumber sandwiches with the crust cut off. Some of you nerds maintain some kind of living while waking up, at 3am, by the phone like Hillary Clinton in a 2008 presidential campaign ad. Most of us cannot , cause we're heavy listeners of TLC and live by the words, "Always talkin about what he wants, and just sits on his broke ass," may Left Eye rest in peace; No Scrubs in heaven. That being said, some of us don't mind living paycheck to paycheck, allowing for some great opportunities to group at different times throughout the day.

Now you're telling me, "Nitsuu, I'm not sure Venerate is the right guild for me. I want the full P99 experience, you know?" Before you go chasing waterfalls, let me say I appreciate your carefully crafted question, voice in my head. I can assure you Venerate shows up in RnF threads just like the rest of them; whether it be winning a Tstaff over a monk (http://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=226227&amp;highlight=kayyte) or accidentally training Velketor (https://vid.me/J1ns) onto a competing guild. We also manage to complete epics, and kill stuff like giants and dragons. I have to say, for a guild that found its beginnings on P99 in September 2015, the pace of growth and advancement is a testament to the addiction of this game; oh, and our awesome people of course.

We've had a great week for Venerate members and their (guild first) epics!

After a successful raid in Sky last week, this morning Fantastik earned, in my humble opinion, one of the coolest looking epics, the Scythe of the Shadowed Soul! Now, this may need further confirmation, but according to Rogean himself on my stream a couple months ago, there are only about seventy necro epics on the server. This makes Venerate even more proud of Fantastik for his achievement, a guild first.

Next we got THE Ronnie James Dio and his Singing Short Sword! In the midst of fighting down to the Undead Bard for Dio's last epic fight, we experienced an earthquake. Trak spawned and we killed him for the first time. It was very exciting but as fate would have it, he didn't drop the guts (thanks for the two ranger BPs though, Trak.) Sad Dio :( But today, after several hours of tracking and multiple trips down into the lair, we were able to take 'em down. Dio got his fancy musical sword, and Venerate's first earned bard epic.

Lastly, Sightling got his Swiftwind and Earthcaller! I'm pretty sure but not 100% certain this was a guild first... but either way, we are super stoked for a very dedicated and valued member (and frequent tracker) of the guild. I don't have a picture but it looks something like this:

A lot of the folks with epics in our guild started in Venerate in their pre-lvl30s. So it's really kewl to see them with their epics! There isn't any level requirement to join, or required raid percentage, or even required to goto raids (though encouraged to go if we're short on a class). Most of the guild is 50+ but there is a good handful in the 40s.

I was pretty impressed by Venerate who had some people performing key roles. It was touch and go here and there but on the whole we did amazingly well for a first attempt, and without monster zerg numbers (finished with 65 or so). Hopefully we can win a few more in the near future!

Venerate doesnt have a lot of low levels. I'd find a leveling guild and then app when you're ready to raid.

In the past couple weeks we've killed Vindi a bunch, Wuoshi, Fay, Fear golems, Draco, Inny, Talendor, Trak and Velk (shout out to our buds in FoH and Anonymous for a joint effort on those last two!)

Bump. We're always recruiting all classes however we are seeking a few dps classes to join the ranks. A couple selling points are we don't require you to raid to join, but it is encouraged. Friendly atmosphere. We're not the top guild on the server but we kill a lot of top end content. We use dkp for loot, and it's structured in a way to allow you control of your dkp on a main, 2nd main (20% extra) or even an alt (100% extra cost). We've been through many hurdles to get us to that point, but so far it's working out well.
