So, do people get banned by mistake when attempting to transfer money and/or valuable items?

I understand you can't use two clients to transfer yourself, so this is assuming you find a friend or a guildmate to hold some stuff while you get onto another account.

If I am doing absolutely nothing wrong, should I be worried about an overzealous GM or staff member thinking I'm doing something bad?

They used to all the time for legitimate cross-server trades because they couldn't take another 10 seconds to connect a trade from one server to a trade on the other.

But yes, I've heard of it happening (temporarily) by people being good somolians and doing transfers for strangers. I think they generally get it straightened out after some time, but be wary.

A friend of mine helped do a small and friendly ~10k platinum transfer in EC. Like 3 months later, a GM came up to him and said he's gonna get banned unless he proves he's innocent. All for helping with an xfer that he couldn't even remember doing, nor had logs for any longer.

As far as your issue, it shouldn't be a problem. But I don't help non-guildees with transfers now adays.

Short answer - don't trade/transfer highly valuable things with strangers, or if you do - take screenshots that you won't delete for a long time.
