Short notice open PoG raid 3/19 at 9am. Be there or be square.

The particulars:
-Open to anyone 46+
-CSG leadership commits to leading this raid from 9am until 1pm est. We may continue after that if the turnout is good.
-You may only roll for loot on the character you are playing, not the 20 alts you also have parked there.
-Loot is /randomed publicly. If you want clarification on any loot policy the time to ask is right here in this thread before the raid starts.
-Please stay out of the chat channels that are being used to lead the raid, herding 75 people from different guilds has unique challenges.

haha, this will be a blast. Everyone will be bringing their lvl 46 nubsauce alts. I figure everyone in raid guilds have their mains with SS armor or Kael armor, so this is a chance for the non guilded and the alts of the other guild's mains to get some action.

Someone asked me in game if this was an attempt to clear for a Tunare kill. At this time, CSG has no pre-planned intentions of killing Tunare. That is not the purpose of this raid.

I think you misunderstand (on purpose?) - we have no plans of "exploiting" anyone and if we did decide to kill Tunare at the end of the raid, everyone who participated in the open PoG raid would be welcome to join us and everyone would get to roll on the loot - but we are not currently planning a Tunare kill, which has already been mentioned previously.

This is an open server raid to allow those who do not normally get to raid, a chance for a fun experience and a chance for some nice loot - the only thing CSG gets out of this is a fun morning/afternoon with elf friends.

Looking on the wiki page for Plane of Growth, as well as some of the associated pages for mobs therein...

I noticed that there are a lot of missing images and other info for this zone.

While I can fumble through a minor text edit, I'm certainly not an expert at wiki-ing (the p99 wiki is the first one I've ever participated in). That being said, if anyone else in attendance IS particularly handy with the wiki, this raid will be an ideal opportunity to grab a screencap or two (dozen?) to fill out the wiki info for this zone.

Glaring example... there is no image for one of the major threats of this zone, the protectors of growth.

Likewise for many of the smaller mobs (steeds, wolves, etc.).

If you're a wiki expert, planning to attend, please give some consideration to this opportunity to improve the wiki while we're there en masse, roaming the whole zone.

AG has been doing their thing since late 2012 without any "mergers" and is certainly far more consistent, friendly, and inclusive than any other group of pathetic neckbeard cuck "raiders" this server has known

GG Nemce et.al. the server needs more pickup "raids" without thinly-veiled ulterior motives

Cant do much about the levels but when I run loot on an open raid I only give 30 seconds or so to roll on it (or send me a tell that you're dead) to freeze out the afkers.

Guild raids are no better, especially with DKP. The guys who've been in the guild longest win the good stuff even if they happen to be that afk-er casting greater heals.

If you want special treatment, form your own raid and make that part of the announcement (this raid is for me, I'm special, I will get what I want).

But, if you want people to show up, participate, and have fun, in an open raid... all egos must be checked at the door. Everyone enters on equal footing.

So this was just as much of a learning experience for me as for many of those in attendance. I believe you will see more of these in the future, at varying times to assist other time zones and so my guild doesn't mutiny me for continued cancelling of our morning Saturday HoT raids.

Expect better, more efficient raids each time!

Oh is there truth to that class specific drop system for PoG? Someone was saying it's all truly random.

I was led to believe the drops were for certain class types, not truly random. The wiki kind of implies this, just not very well because it's incomplete.

Not sure though, pog was never a popular zone on Live and isn't here either. I have only my own anecdotes and tribal knowledge. Maybe someone who knows better will correct me with a source.

We killed Ungoro or whatever his name was. Dropped shaman legs. Didn't quite get around to the BP guys.

No, just leg mobs. I am very curious about something though. It seemed possible to kite Treah and have her summon her satyrs and then pick them out and kill them. She can be kited indefinitely. Kiting Rumbleroot works fine too but pulling the wisps is a non-starter because they charm once aggroed. AG is going to try to figure out some better manipulation of the mechanics on our own time and bring it back to the server once we've got it down pat. Or 100+ people can show up and we can just mow the zone down.
