well i wasted my time "pirating" this unreleased early access pile of shit cause I heard it was at least a cool tech demo. just writing in to confirm it's not worth even that. Whatever calculations the engine has to do to speed up/slow time based on your movement just about catch my fucking computer on fire even when gfx are turned all the way down.

And why the fuck do bullets go at the speed of an archer's arrow even when you're moving in real time? Is it because at realistic speeds the game design didn't make any fucking sense and the game wasn't fun? Is it because they were afraid to give you enough movement speed for skill at the game to actually matter? Bullet velocity is so low that the slowmo mechanic isn't even necessary to beat even the hardest levels.

Why can't you crouch?

Why does the sword, what could have been the coolest weapon, always slice people in half in the same spot of the torso even though other melee weapons have accurate hit detection and I can shatter skulls with a bat swing to the face?

Videogames fucking suck. This is a cutting edge tech demo? People paid $20 to play this shit? i hope it got them on a FEMA internment list

i dont know the answers to any of this in any detail, dumb pc gayme, i just know it's garbage and you shouldn't buy it. There's nothing really impressive about the time speed up / speed down bullshit either really. game runs in ticks tick rate slows down speeds up and past ticks are saved for replay big woop. Prolly could have done it in source engine and then it wouldn't handle like complete ass. it was definitely heavily funded by early access and apparently was under development for 5 yrs to get us this 5 minutes of gameplay on an engine that lags my computer to shit

It's not like Braid at all. The only way the arrow of time can reverse is in the replay, which has been a feature of pretty much every replay engine ever. Other than that, it's a shooter where you walk like someone broke your legs with a hammer and bullets travel at about 35 feet per second.

Hitting a running target from 15 feet away requires you to lead them by more than a full body length. I booted up the game to take a screenshot demonstrating exactly how slow bullet velocity is, but I ran into the absolutely terrible collision detection first:

One right opinion in here.

$25 for a 90 minute campaign? Are they nuts? What good is innovative gameplay when the game is so short? People are literally playing the entire game and getting their money back on Steam because they haven't gone over the 2 hour limit for refunds. It's lazy development to release a game with so little content.

I do like the convenience of play-and-pitch. "Buy", play, and pitch the garbo in the trash. No charge. Now THAT is what I call proof of concept. Shitware should be free. This is cutting edge.

You can't imagine how many times I got so annoyed just with Skyrim slow-mo replays, especially when they would actually be a miss but I still get to helplessly watch the video as the giant is hoisting my character 300ft into the air like a rag doll. And slow-mo in a shooter... it's just not very logical. Even fallout screwed it up too often, I think the pause action screwed it up so you didn't need to challenge the brain vs reaction time.

tl;dr I think people playing this game too often would likely wind up getting hit by a bus as they cross the street.

you can feel the development hell in the game design.

They had a cute idea about a bullet-time shooter, but didn't realize that even with the slowmo mechanic realistic bullet velocities are too high for any reasonable ability to dodge if you're running at immersive modern shooter crippled movespeed. Rather than compromise with increased movespeed and partially reduced bullet velocity and proper level design to have a slow-mo, but still fast-paced game, they simply dropped bullet velocity until the design was vaguely playable and very "cinematic".

Even after their lazy escape from dev hell they could have reskinned the game so that these slow projectile launchers were dart guns or bow-and-arrows or some shit, but instead they farted out this retarded shit and the tasteless hipsters said thank you daddy anyway. The assault rifle is literally shittier than a paintball gun.

The computer I used to play early EQ was my Quake rig :D Well version III Quake rig.

brought to you by bethesda™hmm... maybe not so bad. They did so-so with Quake, at least they wont turn it into a browser game which imo was a mistake for Quake Live. Once they went back to stand-alone client though, they dropped support for Linux and Mac, not that I care though.

There were a lot of cheats going on with the browser version, aim bots and junk. Not as bad as BF2142 got at a few points though, where these exploits went unpatched over a year at one point, match crashing exploits to save peoples ranks etc. But Bethesda more or less actively maintained Quake, constantly trying to get rid of the cheats as best they could (and not doing bad with 500 people in at prime, more than p99red hehe). So Doom may do well.

Recommend using an infinite bullet time trainer/hack if you can self-regulate, and playing on maximum difficulty. Only if you have played through it 2-3 times before.

I found more fun when I had full control over my use of bullet time as a "save my ass" mechanic. Love making that final heroic dive into the air on-demand when I need it. MP2 wasn't providing me with enough bullet time without the trainer/hack.

Also recommend playing at night with the lights very dim/off for maximum neo-noir immersion levels.

No idea why these scumbags did MP3 without noir and without meaningful bullet time. I understand they wanted to go to bumfuck Brazil on a safari, and there is nothing noir about that, but they could have paid homage with a few noir scenes. Cuba has some very noir-esque environments, Brazil is close enough to Cuba. Instead they went modern Brazil with techno clubs and ravers. Bad bad bad. MP3 = good story but it wasn't Max Payne. I'd still buy MP4 but apparently...that's never happening.
