Congrats Awakened on another great week! For anyone interested in stepping up their game and joining the ranks of top tier raiding on P99, please look beyond "forum propaganda" and talk to some players about what it means to raid in P99!

I joined Awakened as a semi-casual player, nervous I'd never make the cut because I have a demanding career and family obligations. I was certainly challenged to step up my game in Awakened but that didn't mean poopsocking, staring at a screen for 1000 hours, or being forced to play more than I was comfortable with. I learned game mechanics from the best players on the server, I was held to a high standard of play, and I got my characters to be raid ready and prepared for any encounter. And hot damn, I've been rewarded for it!

Since joining Awakened I got to finish my druid, bard, and wizard epic quests, I've valiantly defended Thurgadin from an onslaught of giants and Seneschal Aldikar awarded me a 10th Ring from Dain himself. I've slapped around every dragon in town, got multiple characters keyed for ST and VP, and pried a primal velium weapon from the cold dead hands of The Final Arbiter. All while maintaining a happy balance between the demands of Norrath and my real life. It's been amazing to see how efficient Awakened is. We play with a sense of professionalism and we get shit done without having to play 24/7 or waste time on unnecessary wipes and mistakes. Every now and then I stay up later than I should, but hey, sometimes Vulak needs to get stomped a little later than expected.

Awakened's policies and practices reward our most hardworking characters (See Kelzaraz stacking up some DKP on the FTE line) and those who contribute in other ways (See Me getting DKP for finishing a Soulfire Quest). Awakened allows players to be as hardcore or casual as they are comfortable with and lets players determine how they can contribute to our success - whether it's porting, tanking, dps'ing, pulling, or whatever else we need done. We also have common sense loot rules that are constantly being revised and adjusted to make sure our loot policies meet the needs of our player base and make sense with the current meta.

Every cycle we see more and more of our characters getting decked out, finishing their epics, finalizing those quests they never finished in Classic Velious, and working towards rounding out their characters! The great thing about our DKP reward system is newer players to the guild have an even better chance to buy items for cheap which means gearing out a lot more quickly and not having to watch that top end gear go to peoples alt's or those sub 60 people. Get the best for your character and there's still an abundance of ToV dragon gear for your alts if you wish to pay the extra DKP!

Awakened and Paradigm Shift banded together and pulled out all the stops to down one of the most elusive, pain in the ass, mobs in world history... NEXONA. She's been left up by Awakened, Aftermath, and pretty much every other guild in history at times because she's a monster for sure. She's more up than a neckbeard's boner for Jessica Nigri. She's up more than Woushi after he drank too much caffeine and can't get to sleep (get it like up at night?).

She's caused more wipes than Taco Bell diarhea. She's responsible for more wipes than my car windshield wipers (prius or truck or maybe a reasonably safe SUV with okay gas mileage that is safe for upstate new york winters you choose). But not this cycle my friends, no not this cycle. Babygirl don't wory PS and Aw go together like sugar and spice, naughty and nice, neckbeards and lice and we got her dead for sure!

The garbage loots re-emphasized why people ignore her but damn she ded!

I don't know if it is stupidity.. ignorance.. mental retardation.. or they are just doing so bad that they have to turn the spin machine on maximum overdrive.. but it is just sad to watch.

Speaking of contested mobs, Awakened had a great repop! Stealing Lord Koi`Doken and Lady Mir while watching those other guys train themselves on Lord Vyemm was great. The spin machine will tell you that they killed all these contested mobs, but the truth is, there isn't much of anything to see. The pathway of a repop is usually set in stone due to agreements in place.

Both A/A lost a mob to CSG, so congrats to CSG on the hustle.

As Harbo is slandered in the daily news, I am here today to post that I believe statutory and regulatory action is necessary to ensure innocent warriors are protected from false accusations and raid crippling suspensions for merely following their dreams.

Harbogast is just an ogre. An ogre with fears, hopes, balls, and a family. He has put his life on the line week in and week out and protected Norrathians from Oggok to Ak'Anon against fire breathing dragons and overzealous gods. He has even shielded hundreds of Awakened guildies from harms way as we've risen up against the most menacing of mobs like Avatar of War and Tunare.

Harbo has done all this while living in an unstable world... never knowing when his next engage might mean his death or even worse a suspension. It's time to embrace Rule of Law in Norrath. We need a system based on fair, publicized, broadly understood and stable laws. Laws which are are evenly enforced.

Strengthening 'rule of law' in Norrath will help hold individuals accountable, make it easier for guilds to conform to raid rules, and promote compromise and teamwork, even among bitter rivals. These reforms can be done in a way that maximizes outcomes for hardcore raiders, casuals, veterans, newcomers and everyone in between.

I'm kidding, I'm kidding! All joking aside, the staff have sent a strong message to all raiding guilds in the past few months. I hope the experience gained without A/A complicating or rushing encounters will allow the other guilds on the server to carve out a piece of the raiding pie that they enjoy. Repops are really fun... Makes you not even wanna play the normal cycle bullshit 1 dragon every X amount of hrs. We kill less mobs because we cannot be everywhere at once but its a lot more fun having to mobilize and etc. Feels classic. Wizards and Druid been useful in Velious. Hehehe

Big changes have been going on here at <Awakened>. The premiere raiding guild on Project 1999, and I’d like to take a moment to explain how YOU can join our excellent community.

There has been a stigma that <Awakened> is too much of a commitment for your average player, but that could not be further from the truth. Awakened is a casual friendly guild in that once you become a full member there are NO raiding requirements. No tracking requirements. Nothing. What we do require is that your 30 day raid attendance is over 15% to bid on top tier (Vulak/Doze) loot. Basically this just means someone can’t just log in for the first time in months and outbid you for one of the best items in the game.. but they probably can next week :-)

That said, we’re here to play the game at a high level. Just because you don’t HAVE to get involved doesn’t mean you shouldn’t. Raiding is what we’re about and we want you to come raid with us.
So what does it take to join? Well those are the changes I’m here to tell you about.

There are 3 tiers at Awakened: RECRUIT STATUS, MEMBER STATUS, and FULL MEMBER STATUS

RECRUIT STATUS:
• Level 50+ doesn't meet all the requirements for membership or has not been in the guild long enough (2 weeks) or attended enough raids (20) to be voted on.
• Level 55 recruits are eligible to attend raids, earn DKP, and bid on limited loot.
That’s it! Any level 50+ can join Awakened as a recruit. During your recruitment period if you are not level 60 you are encouraged to level instead of raid.

MEMBER STATUS (Member Recruit)
• Meets all raid ready requirements (gear, clickies, has been taught how to track)
• Level 55-59
• Access to the majority of loot in the game
• Cannot bid on Main Tier Loot (Only Lvl 60 Full Members can bid on Main Tier loot)
• Minimum 2 weeks in guild
• 20 raids attended
• Has passed a guild wide membership vote with a 75% Yes vote

FULL MEMBER STATUS
• Same as Member Status but level 60
• Access to all loot

If you’re interested in applying please put in an application on our web forums.

1) Go to our website http://www.awakenedguild.com and click on the "Awakened Forums" link on the top banner.
2) Create an account at the Awakened Forums (You MUST create a username equivalent to your intended main character)
2a) Agree to terms (check box)
3) Check your email. Click the link sent via email to complete your registration. This will take you back to the Awakened Forums website.
4) Visit the Recruitment Forum and fill in the application listed.
5) Once we have received your application and reviewed it, we will attempt to contact on the forums through Personal Message. If you do not hear from an officer in a timely manner after applying, please send a tell to a Awakened member and ask them to put you in contact with an officer.
6) You will be tagged in game and asked to set up an in-game interview (usually in Teamspeak) in order to get everything set up correctly (Forum access, batphone access, Teamspeak installation etc.) and answer any questions you may have.

It's great to have a guild that is flexible and always willing to adjust its policies for the betterment of the playerbase! It's been so fun having some young blood, pre-60, chars around. Bard epic for 1 DKP -- yupppppppp, helping apps finish pain in the ass quests/epics/fights they've been stuck on --- yuppp, seeing amazing raid items replace old school gear like Hooded Black Cloak --- yuppp! We got it all!!

Blue drakes in camp. They'll getchya. Dunno why they are flagged Cleric mobs on P99 though. All drakes should be wizards in VP regardless of color.

PD definitely is a healing mob on P99. Rampage wiped to a PD that CH'ed herself back in the day when they were all stunned. She usually doesn't get a chance to heal because guilds kill her so fast. However, when stuns go bad from her AE she does it. Also from 2001 Allakhazam.


Hmmmm, not a lot of this information is useful, or even correct. Here are some facts:

1) Phara Dar is a *cleric*, not an enchanter. Why? She does a CHeal if she can, I know of no enchanter mobs that can pull off a CHeal... ;)

2) PD does not "mezmerize", it's an AE stun, which lasts like 10 sec or so. Stuns are used by clerics, although this one is an AE stun (and yes, I'm fully aware that chanters have AE stun as well, but PD is still not an enchanter, he's a cleric!).

3) Get your MR up way up there. Even at 200+, it's hard to resist the stuns. But, it can be done, so drag your bards with you on your next clearing of VP. You can maybe use some "geographics" to your favor, but I don't think you can avoid the AE stun entirely, without very high MR.

4) Phara Dar *will* gate if given the opportunity. Two enchanters can mana sieve enough to avoid the gate, but he will CHeal at least once. With a few more enchanters, you might be able to sieve her dry before she even gets the cheal off. But, to avoid an annoying CR, possibly with SC, make sure she's dry before she tries to cast the gate.

We ended strong with the ghost of Henrique landing a clean FTE and pull on Dozekar, finally bringing in an Emerald Tear for me Awakened after a long and annoying emerald-less streak.

The fight lasted 200 seconds which is about 4x our normal. Most melee died before 150 seconds or were dealing with adds, leaving just 2 rogues and one tank on Phara Dar the entire fight.

Whenever I entered a bar or pub, I noticed the patrons looking at my Massive Heartwood Thorn and could hear the whispers. Things were too dangerous for me.

After one too many close calls, I met with Awakened leaders and they decided it was time for me to go in hiding. I met with General V`ghera, who I knew ran a large counterfitting and illusion masks ring. We started creating my new identity. I hid out in Neriak first living as a Dark Elf. Then I tested my forged papers in Felwithe. When the High Elves didn’t suspect anything, I knew I could return to safety.

So allow me to reintroduce myself, I am no longer Fettuccine, I am now Evostab. My new identity has given me another chance at joy in Norrath and I thank Awakened for allowing me to start this new life with some of the kindest and most joyeous homies in the world. I want to give a special thank you to other Norrathians who had to change their identity because of my bravado – especially Santaclaws, Tanksalot, Watchmyfeet – and so many others.

I've been raiding in all of the big guilds for the entirety of this server's existence. I've made friends in them all. I've competed against them all. The pulse right now is that enough is enough. These suspensions are getting out of hand. The server is honestly going to lose a huge portion of its dedicated player base.

EQ is a game where a wrongly timed FD or a fizzle can literally wipe 40 people. Of the times that I've been here, this is honestly the nicest that people play together at the end of the raid scene. It also has the most guilds active in the raid scene that I've been apart of. Do you think DA vs IB was like this? no we would sit in a lair for 2 days WAITING for naggy... You think TMO gave a fuck about anybody? no

Here, we rotate, we gladly will raid with guilds viewed as "lesser" on certain targets and give them the loot and so on. Yeah, so there is still major competitions for the biggest targets but that's always going to be the case.

There are AW fraps out there about that repop morning... We messed up our tracker on Eashan and conceded immediately. We apologized. I think people in both guilds told CSG to come otherwise they probably wouldn't have even of known it was up. The Feshlak pull was a mistake. It wasn't a giant train, the dragon just went into the room instead of the cubby. Our teamspeak and fraps will verify that we had many people trying to pull it off and away from them, we apologized frankly and we conceded a raid target that they weren't even trying to kill.

This does no warrant a 30 day suspension - I've never been one to complain or say anything negative but a mistake is a mistake and we tried to rectify it by conceding the mob and apologizing. CSG still got their Eashan. Very disappointing results if this does indeed stay as enforced. I really hope the GMs will sit down with leadership of the guilds and try to tell us what they want us to do and still maintain competition (sorry, no one wants to be forced into multi-way rotations).
