View Full Version : Triggered Ventril Sathir & Faydedar now that they've been in awhile

I was wondering what were the minimum group make ups that would be necessary to do the triggerable versions of Venril Sathir and Faydedar. I'm working on my druid epic and these are the last two steps I need. I'm not opposed to the idea of MQing them, but I'd much rather complete them myself. I'm just trying to get an idea for what that would take since they've been in game awhile and people have probably dealt with them a few times.
Based on some quick searching it seems like VS is not much less difficult than the regular VS. I haven't found much info on the difficulty of the spawned Faydedar, other than he's suppose to be easier. I'm hoping that either the frequency of dragon roar is decreased, or that he doesn't use it entirely. Although, I doubt that's the case.
The bulk of the information on what I can find about these are in:

I've done triggered fay with 2 clerics, druid, shaman, warrior, necro and 3 melee dps. He doesn't hit too hard. It just comes down to people being able to resist fear/AE and clerics not running out of mana.

Good to know.
The makeup that I could realistically get would probably be cleric, bard, warrior, necro, shaman, and then as many melee dps as possible which would probably be three rogues.
With the bard - necro combo do you think that would be enough mana pumping to keep the cleric up for the whole fight? I would assume rolling a CH and having a torpor shaman would probably be enough provided the fear doesn't land every time.

Got triggered Faydedar to 90% solo, I was using a bad strategy and wasn't very prepared. But I think I would've needed an entire SoulFire to get it down using a charmed pet solo. Maybe if I am feeling crazy I'll try this again.
Got triggered Faydedar to 73% with a trio of 2 warriors and 1 Druid. That was burning through all my mana Nature's Touching the Warriors... Had I instead been on my cleric I think we could've pushed through. I think a Warrior / Melee DPS / Cleric combo that is well geared could down him also.

I'd be willing to try Fay with 3 mages... 3 epic mages would be ideal but I'd try it with 3 no epic mages.... Valiant Companion needed of course....

VSR is still basically VS, spawns within 24 hours of VS dying.
Once VS is patched to 3 days it will be more common.
VSR/VS should have been changed with this last patch but were not; therefore, right now these two still appear only once a week and are being targeted by the smaller raiding guilds.

So the strength of the triggered VS is still about the same as the regular VS here?

Minus his self buffs, since he doesn't have time to cast them.

Did the triggered Faydedar last night with a 4 person group of 60s (warrior, rogue, bard, and cleric).
With bard songs I think there were a total of two short fears (one on the war and one on the cleric) and by the end of the fight the cleric was at about half mana. Would've been a bit easier if the warrior had their disc up too.

whats wrong with tash stick war + shm on faydedar?

Yeah that would probably work too. We didn't have a shaman on hand at the time when we did it. Would just take a bit longer but with slow, cani, and Torpor that wouldn't matter.

I assumed Faydedar was unslowable, like all the other Kunark
Dragons. Is this incorrect?
