Bernie Sanders will bring about Rat Park The rest will just keep this sadcoaster rolling.

But this is a great video that at least on some level should introduce you to a way of thinking that looks at the human condition as if we are animals, not gods children.

its why teach a man to fish wont work, but helping him to eat will.

Timely video, although not for anything to do with EQ -- a project I'm working on where my hypothesis ends up being "rat park" for my home community.

Good video.

Unfortunately for the addict (opiates only) once you have been identified with a problem, you are physically addicted. Its too late to change cages, and you will now have to face a very unique and nasty situation all by yourself. Alone. Regardless if you were just taking the drug for fun or not.

Soldiers in Vietnam couldn't use heroin/opium every day. Daily opiate/opioid use is more the norm when discussing "problems". So I took issue with them using that example, but since I support the overall message, I can allow it.

Casual users (weekend bangers) can have deep psychological addictions, but its all in their head. Nothing bad happens to them regardless of what cage you place a weekend user in when they stop taking the drug. A weekend user is more of a spiritual problem.

Changing the cage does help tremendously in both scenarios. I strongly urge anyone attempting rehabilitation through a private facility to travel as far as possible, preferably a very considerable distance across the globe. The physiological changes in gravity/sunlight/circadian rhythm can give you a much cleaner break from the habit than merely going down the street to the local facility that also works with prisoners and felons.

Of course, if you don't have any money, you have no choice in what "cage" you can place yourself in. For now.

Didn't watch the video, but heroin addicts should be executed. Not because they are bad people, but because we don't need them. Mankind is already a scourge upon this planet. Why waste more resources subsidizing failed conditions to the detriment of other creatures and the environment at large?

We need heroin addicts, because we need to feel superior. We need the scourge upon the earth, because we need to feel accomplished by our efforts to rid the world of the scourge.

hate 2 say it but youtube video in OP is spot the fuck on. and for a long time I was a soldier addicted to everquest and hate, I would have been that evil flying skull raping and pillaging peasents for the ultimate deathbattle genocide sim fix.

Thank god I bothered to look at myself and my life and start realizing what was making me so toxic and why I was so sad and pathetic and angry and lonely.

maskedmelon is a good little industrialist

*pats maskedmelon's head*

Long tangent. My grandfather is an "industrialist". I knew him as a businessman, something that is expected of you in America. He's in business. He does business. He was an entrepreneur when he was young. He was an entrepreneur, got older, now he is just a businessman. That's how we talk in America right? That's what you grow up with right?

Well apparently, when you achieve a certain amount of success you become this scummy "industrialist" in the eyes of socialism. The insinuation being that you sacrificed your soul and family life to achieve more money. I learned this after my great-aunt came over from Sweden at the age of 84 and told us to read her book on our life on that side of the family. I read it. It was the first time I had ever heard a businessman described as an industrialist. I considered the context, more about the word. I came to the realization it was a label and not a description.

She didn't hate business. She had no opinion. It was an autobiography. But her use of language when it came to describing my grandfather taught me everything I needed to know about the very subtle cultural corrosions of socialism, and the differences between our two countries.

Nothing wrong with being an industrious industrial person... errr industrialist. It's like a dose of KMFDM mixed with a dose of get shit done by any means neccissary, movers and shakers, no boots stompin, just grindin.

Nothing wrong with that :p

Now I don't think all the "industrialists" r evil or even millionaires or some billionaires.

Granted there's a few obvious "businessmen" who are scum.

P.S. Bill Gates is alright. And so is Ted, from ted talks, and linus... and such, all rich nice tech people. Jobs was a dick

the guy that ran carnivore and sucked away tax payer money... a dick

Music Recodrd Label owners, GENERALLY dicks (but there might be some smaller nice ones)

Etc...

In fact the shitty cellphone patent wars didn't really take off until Jobs fired his last shot.

Google CEO, prob not a dick, prob not a saint either (lots of government pals)

etc.

why are you saying they need to suffer for several years on a specific type of addiction before they can talk about industrialists and capitalists?

Ps Thomas Durant is the true meaning of industrialist.

Also drug addicts like Barrett (alcohol?)

always have a chip on their shoulders. their high horses helps enable their addictions and in return justify the victimization of those that enable them

I was hopelessly addicted to Chef Boyardee™ ravioli for about 5 or 6 years back in the 90's. Man when it all started I just enjoyed a can or two every day but before I knew it I was craving that savory beef filling for every meal. Then I started sneaking downstairs in the middle of the night and cooking up a can real quick on the stove, trying to get that salty rush. One thing led to another and I became too thirsty for pasta sauce to even cook it, I just started eating it out of the can. Can after can after can I couldn't help myself, I had to have more raviolis. I couldn't get enough from my parents so I'd go to my friends' houses and eat their raviolis. I hit rock bottom when I got caught skipping school and trying to steal cans of raviolis from Albertson's. My parents cut me off, and it was a rough road to recovery, but things got better.

So you don't have a monopoly on addiction. I understand what it means to fiend.

lol Lune your spiel reminded me of the time a sports journalist took Lance Armstrong to task on his cancer and how he was using it as a shield to continue using dope and avoid the hard questions about how clean he was.

"You don't have a patent on cancer you know."
