View Full Version : Question on Playing While Travelling

I was curious if there are any policies with Project 1999 with members who occasionally go on training trips and logon to the game at a hotel or hotspot? Basically will the GMs frown upon seeing you enter the game from a different ISP and possibly ban your account? I've heard of horror stories in other online games where players who are playing while travelling find their accounts disable and/or banned because it looks like that they're sharing their account with others.

Shouldn't matter. I've logged on from various hotels while riding the Sodor rails without issue. It also doesn't matter if you log on through Thomas's wifi access while in his coaches. Just have your boarding pass ready.

GM's are concerned about you using multiple logins to box, not where you log in from.

Sharing accounts isn't against policy as far as I'm aware only playing two accounts simultaneously...

I think the only hiccup you might hit is if you happen to randomly be traveling to the same hotel as someone else from p99 and log on at the same time (Assuming said hotel has one static IP)

And I'd be willing to be that in the off chance that happens and your account gets banned, if you got in touch with the GM's and provided the hotel information, your accounts would probably be re-activated. Not to mention, I -think- they usually come check on you in game before they ban anyone, so you would probably even get spoken to before it happens, since the chances of two people traveling to the same hotel and logging in to p99 at the same time AND being together in a zone (etc) are so bloody slim...

IE: The odds are ever in your favour.

You will not be banned for logging in through different IPs. Also, while account sharing is not against the rules here, it is highly discouraged. When your account gets stripped of gear by someone who you shared account info with, there's not much we can do about it.

Thank you all for the helpful information. I'm just getting ready for a week long training session next month and I'm glad that my concerns were addressed. Is that the same Llandris a few nights back in the EC tunnel that was morphing everyone into different races, critters and objects? You turned my Halfling into a DE and all my guildmates were saying that it was permanent. (^_^)
