Granite Face Grinder (http://wiki.project1999.com/Granite_Face_Grinder)
2x Platinum Fire Wedding Ring (http://wiki.project1999.com/Platinum_Fire_Wedding_Ring)s
Full set of Large Banded Armor (http://wiki.project1999.com/Large_Banded_Armor_Set)
Black Sapphire Platinum Necklace (http://wiki.project1999.com/Black_Sapphire_Platinum_Necklace)
2 x Black Sapphire Electrum Earring (http://wiki.project1999.com/Black_Sapphire_Electrum_Earring)s
Buy the earrings last in case you run tight on cash.

That is the inventory of a great lvl 15 Ogre shaman.
I'd suggest a poisoned wind censor tho over gfg as iirc it's a few k cheaper and really not that much worse. Can opt to maybe get a back/belt with leftover plat.

True, with the money you could save from buying a Poison Wind Censer (http://wiki.project1999.com/Poison_Wind_Censer) you could afford a haste item like Silver Chitin Hand Wraps (http://wiki.project1999.com/Silver_Chitin_Hand_Wraps) and do more damage than the GFG without haste.

Assuming you're going to be soloing, that list sounds good to me.
If you'll be grouping, I'd get more ac or mana gear so you can deal with aggro from slows (either tanking or rooting, respectively) and not worry about haste and a melee weapon. CGS is like 250p or less. That's a great shield for a grouping shaman.

Oh man yes excellent.
About grouping, this build is good for that too, hp/mana is good and 15-35 you'll be best melee dps backup. P much as good as a hybrid dps but with bonus shaman spells :)

Usually in my groups I'm the crowd control, slower, buffer, healer, etc. so I rarely melee enough to worry about gearing for melee. YMMV of course. :)

Save/invest most your money and work towards an iksar regen breastplate. Investing 1k in some basic gear (5/55 rings, cheap wisdom gear, banded) is advised, otherwise save your money for the upgrades that really matter. Your available spell casting power is directly impacted by your health regen potential starting the minute you get your first canni spell.
-Spend about 1k and save 6.
-Go hunt.
-When you get to the point you can make sow potions, use your cash to buy potion reagents and make 10 dose sow pots during your downtime. Even at low levels I'd generally walk away from a 2 hour xp session with several hundred to a thousand play in my pocket. For each 1k in potions sold, 350 of that was profit return on investment. There are a lot of rich twinks out there who will happily drop a few hundred plat on sow potions.
You'll end off better in the long run.
So I have PWC, HP rings, Full Banded, and Silver Chitin Hand Wraps now. Still have about 5k. Should I sell the hand wraps and buy a Iksar Regen BP? Are the hand wraps not really as beneficial as the Regen BP? Thanks.

=/ I cant really confirm if the iksar bp is worth it.. on one hand it will last you until you are high enough to get or buy a fungi.. on the other hand.. the haste is good up until like level 35, then melee just loses its power for the shaman...
That's a really tough call, becuse both items are kinda meh.. I would wear the gloves until like 35 then see what you can get if you try to swap them out.

You should buy the cheap items of the Jaundiced Bone set; the AC is superb. The only stats you will ever need are AC and HPs. They are like 400pp each for 4 of them.

If I had to choose between a SCHW and an Iksar Regen BP on a shaman, I'd take the BP. Being able to cannibalize more - being able to take more hits - dying less.... all these come with regen. SCHW will let you kill faster, but I don't think it would have as much benefit as the regen BP.

There is nothing meh about the iksar regen bp for the shaman class. It is the second best chest item in the game that you can buy. Nothing else you can reasonably buy other than fungi will give you the same return on investment.
The haste item you will outgrow as your melee falls off and your time is better spent spell slinging.
The regen item is timeless. If you're smart you won't drop it until you upgrade to a fungi. Even melee mode the +5 regen will do as much for your overall kill rate as 21% haste by reducing your downtime between pulls. This is especially the case at the lower levels where permanent +5 regen makes low end content trivial. When you outgrow meleeing, that regen will help you do what the big boy shamans do ... Canni harder and cast more.
No contest, regen should be the priority.
