...FQ and RED99 DEAD on all fronts of the game (I say it with much luv to all involved ) and GMS need to intervene and allow cross server toon xfers or re-allow cross server xfers.

Something drastic like ^ has to happen; many of the vets of the server are /camping out and very little new blood is coming in.

The following doesn't need to happen:

NO TO WIPES.
NO TO REGULATED RAIDS.
NO TO TOUCHING CURRENT GUILD SETUPS .
NO TO MERGING SERVERS RED+BLUE.
NO TO DISCUSSING GUILD BALANCING I.E MAX 50 MEMBERS PER TAG (IT WONT WORK).
NO TO SHUTTING DOWN RED99.

What needs to happen is step towards bring back OG players and breed new players who love EQ and dabbling in EQPvP.

Red99 is a great server and I have/had alot of fun on it but its time...its time to discuss with GMs(post in this thread dont ignore it) in this very thread a way to let new blood come here.

(Btw anyone mentioning Nilly days or delete Empire or bring back Nizzar can go die in a fire -- this is more about providing stepping stones towards stopping the rot).

Personally:

Allowed toon xfers 1 way to Red from blue so people can bring their own plat (i.e a level 55+ toon can bring up to 100k plat).

More events.

I.e: server announcement "Lower Guk event: the Frog King has a chance to drop a DE mask for the next 5 spawns; max toons in zone allowed is locked at 25 once you die in the zone you cannot be rez'd or zone back in".

if you really cared you could recruit new players to red off-site. i recruited hundreds of players to try red in 2015. only 1 of them still plays because the server is fuck-awful.

that's coming from someone who's really immersed and enjoying the fuck out of red post velious. server is terrible and it's no wonder no new players ever make it to 60 and endgame. and it's not gear gap and twinks, or no blue xfers that are the problem starting out, it's out toxic garbage community.

Easier 2 trace the rmt if its the person bringing their own plat. I.e like in my suggestion of allowing 55+ toons come with 100k plat. (No-drop items/non tradeable removed at users discretion or deleted on actually xfer).

A year ago you could log in my time and get groups in pretty much all brackets. Now ur lucky if u have a few 55+ groups online.

here's the problem with ideas like that, and here's why they always get mocked when brought up:

it's work for the CSR staff
the CSR staff doesn't care about red and wants to put the minimum amount of work possible in policing us

no matter how good or shit your idea is, its never gonna happen

i've ran emu servers of other games in the past and been involved in a couple other projects i didn't own. generally unless the staff is making money off the server they are relying upon "donated" man hours from a volunteer CSR staff like on this server. all of the servers i ran had much more lenient rules than project 1999 and despite having less to police the amount of time required for nothing was insane. not to mention the financial cost to run a big scale emu like this.

if there is a surplus of manpower in the staff, the kinds of people usually attracted to volunteering their time to an emu for free would rather be fixing bugs and creating content or whatever, you know things that actually interest them. nobody is enthusiastic about dealing with a stupid insular community like ours' petty squabbles tbh.

we as a community are p much solely responsible for fucking up this server. think about how much time it takes to train a guide to be ready to handle red, then think about how quickly we run guides off the server. lol.

The staff couldn't care less about Red99 becasue 90% of the playersvare, as Sirken has put it, "pieces of shit."

Red99 had its chance, but you losers griefed any/all new players off the server. You shit the bed, now lie in it.

Could you imagine the imbalance that would occur if Blue players were able to transfer to Red? I know a few people that would probably bring over toons. Tstaff and AoN are a lot more common on Blue along with a few other items that are rare on Red.

I like the idea! I still like the prison colony idea. Its like the end of The One where the GMs force transfer anyone who violates the rules habitually to Red permanently.

Whether you think the solution is Luclin or something else, the reason Velious seems so "dead" is because Velious has the least do outside of raids of the classic trilogy, at least on a top heavy server like Red99 is.

Classic offered the grind to 50, sol b / guk / CT / dino farms.
Kunark offered the grind to 60, VP key farm, trak key, seb / kc / NoS / HS farms
Velious offers lodizal and scout charisa, two of which are on long respawn timers, PoM flowers, and faction which really wasn't nearly the big deal people made it out to be?

There just is really no reason to log on in Velious outside of raids

only thing that will save red, is Teams Re99 vanilla-kunark with transfers to red/blue at the end of every cycle.

2 years from now, all 3 servers will be thriving.

Also Luclin will allow smaller guilds like <Friends> to feel less ashamed of killing the dragon,

As Luclin moves the top guilds out of eyesight being a world removed on the Moon, they can finally start recruiting and kill a dragon without their faces turning bright red and/or cardiac arrest
