View Full Version : Experiencing consistent terrible lag with 30ms ping - Very slow running, slow spells

I haven't been playing p99 long, less than 2 months, but recently my lag issues have become almost unbearable (maybe higher level makes it stick out more? I dont know). My ping rarely, if ever, goes to 100ms or even close. 30-50ms is the average, 45ms right now in EC at WC zone line.

In zones like South Karana I run about as fast as someone who doesn't have SoW, and is encumbered by 20 pounds. Greater Fay, Frontier Mountains, and many others are the same story. A guy in SK told me when I ran past him it looked like I went forward then backwards on his screen, but I was running a straight line.

In other zones, such as Misty Thicket I run slightly faster, and get more of the 1-2 seconds "bursts" of speed, but still nowhere close to how someone with SoW/Greater Wolf form should be running.

The other problem has been with spells. When I cast my spells the timer is pretty much either at full time, or it just goes away when the spell casts. My spell buttons (all of them, not just the spell cast) are also very slow to refresh.

I'm playing a 37 druid and when something is ensnared I can out run it, but not enough to ever effectively kite anything, certainly not trying to quad kite.

I installed WinEQ, lowered my FPS to 45, turned clip down to 20%, none of it has made any difference. I found a post referencing a post to a fix for this, but the link was dead.

Any help on this would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks

Still looking for help with this. Just died due to not being able to outrun a relatively slow mob for even a second with 44 wolf form on.

I got it fixed.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure how. I tried every "fix" I could find on the forums/google and got tired of logging off and on only to see the terrible lag in place. Finally I did several things at once, including a second complete re-install of the game but on the second time I used the Dux All In One Installer and used the "multi-core fix" option. I'm leaning towards that being what fixed it, but cant say with certainty as I had tried other "multi-core fixes" before that.

I now walk faster than I was running before so anyone with this problem you are problem running even slower than you actually think. Don't be like me and wait 50 levels to get it fixed.

yeah, my core 2 duo box has this problem for some reason. Even with the fix I still temporarily enter slowmo occasionally, with all animations going at half speed and the spell cast bar being fucked up too (spell lands when bar indicates it's only half-done casting).

Messing with the core/threading options in the properties window at least mitigated the problem though. Now it just randomly pops up when I'm fleeing a train or trying to kite, with no apparent trigger.

I7 box runs fine with no finagling so fuck it.
