Don't contribute to an experience that has consistently devolved into advancing gear gap at the cost of everything that once made EQ fun.

PS: I would not delete the characters. That cements a memory which only acts as a reminder of EQ. If you really want to walk away, you have to consciously stop creating emotional ties. If anything, I would just delete your UI files, which will make playing again disjointed and uncomfortable.

I played on blue. Got to 60 on 2 toons + mid 50s on another. Joined a casual raiding guild. Realized I can't handle the poor quality of play of casual. Joined a hardcore raiding guild. Earned tons of DKP. Earned tons of tracking hours DKP. Quit because the time-suck due to insta-pulling is just off the charts stupid.

Red offers my only opportunity to actually raid the way it was meant to be done. But I'm starting at level 1. Not looking for alot, just something to help outfit a monk.

Reasons to give me some or all of your stuff!

1. My kids will thank you for saving them from the parenting neglect of camping countless hours for plat in order to buy those same items.
2. I like to play lower level characters, so groups I am in will benefit greatly from the increased fungi regen! You are really helping out an entire group by helping me. :)
3. The act of helping others can create an improved sense of well-being. Knowing that you sacrificed something such as time, finances or property in order to help others in need can give you a sense of purpose in life or work and inner satisfaction.

Nobody really needs everything you have. What will somebody do with multiple fungi tunics except sell them to have an insane amount of platinum. I have started over on red with a lv 15 enchanter named Funeral and a lv 18 Shadow Knight. I don't have tons of playtime but when I do I generally do small groups or solo. I started on the blue server, but rerolled on red so i could play on a server with pvp and the faster xp rate will be nice. Eventually I will be able to buy or camp a fungi tunic for my SK, but getting one earlier would be extremely helpful. As for the AoN that is something I could never achieve with my playtime and would be amazing to use one on my fat ogre SK.

I would venture to bet maybe half of all fungi tunics that have dropped are sitting inactive on accounts/chars. Same could be said that more manastones are banned then left most likely. Fungi tunic isn't TOO hard to get, once you are 60 and you put effort into it you can get it done. Like OP for example, I think pre invis/calm pull nerf he farmed fungi tunics every day for months. When certain people say or said they have like 20 or 30 fungi tunics, or 100 diamonds blue diamonds, It is easy to believe.

Its unfortunate the ball was dropped but devs arent omniscient either, had Holocaust, Nihilum, Andis, working them so that they thought xp loss in pvp was needed. Holocaust would explicitely say they were using xp loss to grief people off the server, we saw the pop drop from 600 to double digits in a few months though so theres really no excuse. Same thing with PVE, once Nihilum took over, we told em xp loss was making one side practically invincible because of their numbers and they just laughed at people like "This isnt CoD".

I dont see any new server generating the kind of interest that red did in 2011 so GG.

When I stopped playing on blue to come here I gave away over 300k in items that I was no longer going to need and you can be damn sure I'll give away whatever I have on red when I hang up the towel here too. Yea this is a valid point. I don't understand why they didn't go with item loot out the gate... I know that I read that nilbog is an ex rallos zek player, so I assume that he supports it. It would have cut down on fungi twinks quite a bit if they had the potential to lose it. The item loot dynamic worked well on Rallos all the way up until LDoN added the ability to make every piece of gear no drop by adding augments.

Adding level restrictions to epics definitely helped, but it wasn't enough on its own.

This is also true, but I feel like it's a moot point. The biggest problem is that the most die-hard of players here don't give a damn about anyone else playing. Just as we saw with Nihilum, there'd be 30-50 players logging in for raids even if there was literally nobody else left on the server. There's something very wrong with that mentality.

I can't say I agree with the second part though. It's not really a waste of time if you're still enjoying the game. When I play through and beat any single player game, after I'm done and move on I don't think back with regret about how I wasted all that time on something I'm done with, I look back and think, damn, that was fun while it lasted.

Guards not working and blue players realizing they were not going to get a leg up is what did in pop early. The fat got trimmed quickly back then and pop would never have been anywhere near 1k even with a perfect launch and pvp balance.

Guards not working didnt help but it was the gank trains coupled with XP loss that killed the fun and pop.

Pop peaked at 50 and then Rogean turned off xp loss in pvp, server slowly got pop back after that. Then another huge boost when group xp was patched in. Its clear to me that if these measures would have got in early, then the pop would have grown from that point in time (hundreds of players instead of 50 peak). I cant know for sure but I dont see any reason why a non-shitty Red server wouldnt have attracted more peeps with positive word of mouth instead of the bad press it got.

It was boring as fuck to play before xp loss nerf. People did not stop to smell the flowers (PVP) since recuperating xp took a chunk of time and if you werent crewed with the gank trains what was the point of trying if the only thing that was in it for you was more PVE grind.
