Hey all,
I'm an iksar shaman, 1st character on this server, level 36. I was wondering if I could get advice on what would be a realistic and affordable set of gear that I could get either via money or questing or farming for future levels?
If it helps, most of my time is spent duo-ing with an SK for levelling and adventuring purposes, though I sometimes do things solo (usually not for exp).
Here's my current gearset:
Primary: Iksar Berserker Club
Secondary: Charred Guardian Shield
Ranged: Working on Shaman Cudgel #5
Head: Lumberjack Cap
Face: Bloodstone Eyepatch
Neck: Ivory Imbued Collar
Shoulder: Bloodstained Mantle
Body: Bloodstained Tunic
Arms: Banded Sleeves (aiming for Scaled Mystic Vambraces)
Hands: Iksar Scaled Gloves
Wrists: Banded Bracers (aiming for Scaled Mystic Bracers, barring alternatives)
Legs; Scaled Mystic Greaves
Feet: Scaled Mystic Boots
Ears: Forest Loop x2
Fingers: Moonstone Ring x2
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

You should try entering your character into the wiki magelo. http://wiki.project1999.com/Magelo_Blue
Dump the moonstone rings for two enchanter made hp/ac rings. At some point make the trip to KC, not to exp, but to loot a Supple Scale Armband (http://wiki.project1999.com/Supple_Scale_Armband) from a hands group. Make a few IVU potions before you go.
Past that save every dime you have for Fungi, because that is the real game changer. And past that is Torpor.
Also, there is a wizard quest that is quite useful for shamans: http://wiki.project1999.com/Tarton's_Wheel
It results in the item Star of Eyes (http://wiki.project1999.com/Star_of_Eyes) that is a clicky from inventory. If you put your canni in spell slot 1 and then click your Star of Eyes, canni will become availble to use far faster that waiting for the normal spell gem refresh. The best way I've seen to do this is to make hotbar button 1 be spell gem 1 (canni), and hotbar button 2 be the inventory slot with your Star of Eyes. Then, map both hotbuttons in keybindings to the + on numpad. Proceed to mash the + button.

Appreciate it! I'll try out the Magelo.
I've been wondering if I need a new weapon, but on one hand the ratio on the club is already pretty nice and it isn't that I need it to melee most of the time. WIS is already pretty good unless I look to pretty expensive stuff.
Thanks for the tips.

Initiate symbol of cazic thule. Some great undead mobs you can duo up to mid 50s with it, all sk has to do is snare.

Will have to find a way to build faction with them before I do that, but sounds like a good item.

This is what I did (all self quested) at 34 and it lasted me til I was 50....
Scaled mystic armour - full set
Shield of falsehood
Broom of trilon (pet reclaim clickie)
Buy 2 x 5/55hp rings
Buy slime coated harpoon (primary but can go in range once you upgrade)
Buy +3 wis ears (can camp forest loop but to high for xp there now)
That lasted me til 50, and I mainly solo.
Once 40 go to com and get pages for faction for epic - best to to do it while you get xp
Other than that save pp for spells and fungi - nothing else will help and will be money better spent on spells.
If you do have lots of pp as you level then buy 'artic wyvern armour'

Thanks for the replies, all. Appreciate it.
For the Broom of Trilon, are iksar shaman even able to use it? From their inventory, perhaps? Not sure how clickies work, especially considering that this one in particular doesn't seem to be equippable by iksar shaman.
EDIT: Lojik, if I see you on when I'm trying to get rep, I'll /tell you :)

Broom is clickable from inventory. It is a great way to get extra mana by eating your pet. You can also use a Fang Amulet of Calling to summon a free pet and then proceed to eat him with broom for more free mana.

This is what I love about this server. You don't get cool stuff like this in modern games where they are constantly seeking (never attaining) perfect balance and very specific gear progression.
How bad ass is it to sneak into a dungeon and loot a no-drop item? No "you can't enter this" or being the only one in your instance.
Then cool tricks like that for resetting the spell gem timer. I know it is lame if everyone knows about it and it is the difference between being able to be effective or not but when it doesn't break the game completely I love that.
