Finally trying to get a foot hold and actually play on this server. It's been going ok. Rolled a dwarf Cleric...cause I had rolled a DE cleric and couldn't carry a single junk drop to the merchant to sell to earn money...(cause they don't have any str! lol)
as a dwarf I've been running great distances to xp. and now since I hit 13 i've seemed to run into a wall? Everwhere I go is either green, or blow my butt out of the water hard blue or red? I've been working backwards since. leaving corpses everywhere. I can't seem to be able to progress myself as of yet. what am I doing wrong? I really want my play to take off here, find some friends and form a group that hooks up and plays together when they see eachother online. am I barking up the wrong tree? Did I pick the wrong class to play without already having a clique?
I guess I'm looking for some insight and a shoulder to /tear on because I've been dying over and over lol.
Thanks in advance, Diasy_the_Dwarf

Clerics aren't great solo unless you focus on undead spots. If you want to do that the forum does have a cleric solo guide you can dig up. If you would prefer to group head to Oasis, you shouldn't have a problem finding some folks at crocs/orcs that would be happy to have your buffs/heals.

Try Unrest. Just be really, really careful in Dagnors.

has anyone actually tried to make it to unrest @12 without lev, invis, and sow? between terrain and the undercon mobs....its a daunting task! lol. ate two deaths there. DC is mean~ I don't want to solo. as i stated i want to group, and specifically i'd like to form a daily group/clique. but when the groups arent coming together I do try things on my own hehe. Whats getting from Butcher all the way to Kurns like?
Thanks for the replies, I appreciate them all. keep em coming =)

I did unrest at 11 on red. It's hard, but you can stay there for a long time and the drops are decent.

find someone to duo sister camp in lfay. good xp and monies till around 18-19. Then Unrest for a couple levels, then mistmoore ent/pond group around 21-22.
or stay in crushbone for a couple more levels doing the castle or whatever.

I'm in the same boat, 13 Dwarf Cleric. I've been doing Chessboard in Butcherblock. Planning on moving to Unrest at 14 once I have my next set of spells.

As noted, Unrest will be good if you don't want to leave Faydwer. Upper Guk is also pretty busy, but you might find making an enemy of the live frogloks a hassle without having invisibility. It could still be worth it.
If you wanted to relocate to the Freeport area, you could probably get more varied action between Befallen, North To dervish groups, and Oasis. There's also viable cleric soloing in Najena with the undead, although getting through Nektulous as a lower level dwarf is a bit of work.

Hello sir, Unrest is probably the best option. If you don't want unrest, do as someone else suggest, find a duo and do the sisters. You'll make decent money this way too.
Fuck Oasis, its a tarp.

For great exp and loot. The concordance vendors for around 10 plat. Greater Lightstones give you 4% exp and Lightstones give you 2% exp. All without leaving the zone.
Grouping is more fun though and the more people you group with early, the easier it will be to find groups later. As great as Unrest and Guk can be, Oasis is probably the quickest place for a cleric to get a pick up group.

Orc groups in Oasis are fine but I do find the crocs to be dull and poor loot. On the upside, there are a lot of people who wind up there, so I think it's worth a recommendation even if it's about my last resort for pickups in that level range.

finally made it to 14. got Invud. Hoped that would help me make it to the Fabled Unrest!...two corpses in DC and I'm not in unrest and cannot cast Unvud again lol. Twice I've ran around the entire zone, clearly past the enterance to Unrest which i cannot apparently see or find at Spirit of the Wolf speed, and then die on the second pass. Really...should I keep trying to get there!?

Dying on the way to Unrest is one of those classic experiences that brought everyone back to this game. Another is dying to a train the moment you set foot in Unrest.

If you're level 13 go to kurns tower and solo or group till 19-20
Just be aware it can get packed in there.
Edit: even on red it can be a busy place in the teens.

I thought about that alot. And the run from BB for a lowly dwarf is pretty daunting. As I see it, its boat to freeport, commonlands, Ro, Oasis, TimDeep, OT, WW (another nightmare, die there alot in low teens. mobs wander everywhere), FoB, Kurns. thats alot of zones to avoid red mobs and hated npc's! lol Thank you for the replies, I'm def looking for that community feel!

Unrest is hard to get to if you don't know where it is or how to path the shore to it. Best to ask someone to guide you there.
Once you do make it there, you realize it's not hard to find, impossible to miss. Mostly you just skim the shore on the right side, constantly looking for and dodging wandering mobs. Big hole in the mountain opposite end of the lake just past the goblin tents. Expect to die now and again, a couple nasty mobs along the way can get you if not paying attention.
A cleric can solo Unrest perfectly fine, if decent gear for it. Better to group though, but can solo while you wait for a group. Don't hang out at the entrance, deadly trains are common. One of the best zones in EQ, especially the basement imo http://wiki.project1999.com/The_Estate_of_Unrest
Good loot too, I still use my dwarven work boots.
One of the Cleric quests includes killing and looting the undead brewer there (for preserved hops), for http://wiki.project1999.com/Brell_Serilis_Symbol_Quests

GO TO SISTERS CAMP IN LFAY! it's 4 spawns and if you can get a chanter to duo its so fucking easy and good money. stop wasting your time with Unrest and all this other stupid bullshit.

oh and on that note, you don't really need to run there. Bind just inside the cave ent at the lake. Not at the mouth of the cave, but just a little inside as mobs don't normally path there (that one goblin stops at the cave ent). imo it's easier to gate there and then run back to bb when needed, easier to see wandering mobs imo. Only tricky part is at the bb ent side, much caution there when running back and over that last big hill (can get swarmed), otherwise you have a good LoS along the lake edge all the way back. Oh and often in groups, if you have a drui etc. you can get ports back, then just gate on the return.

It's also camped harder than AC in Oot. Willowisps are better exp and plat if that's the goal, even when they go green.

Willow wisps require running around however. With sisters you just plunk ur fat ugly butt down at one static spot. Ideally though getting through the teens,. Greater Lightstones is the fastest method I know of atm. (post gnoll teeth nerf) Plus it adds plat to ur bank. Problem is the farming of those lightstones. But if you have an alt who has thousands of plat,. buy 8 full bags of greater lightstones and watch that exp bar fly. I just hope the poor sap who farmed them felt it was worth the time and effort.
There is also bandits in west karana you can kill for sashes to turn in, in qeynos. But you can't buy those from players. though if you had a high level friend smash the bandits for a few hours it would be a nice turn in exp reward.

Willowisps are everywhere in NK, sit at the guard tower and they path right by. Kill them as fast or slow as you want without worrying about a gnome mage getting up your butt about the camp every fifteen minutes or getting murdered by a brownie or lawyered out of your camp while you crawl to the vendor with bags of bronze. Turn in lightstones as you get them at the camp that is 30 feet away and fill your bags with GLS to turn in all at once.
I do it on all of my toons, untwinked, and it's great every time. Whenever I try anything else at those levels, I always find it's not as good as wisps until 18.

Right, forgot this was someone from blue. It's always(nearly) open on red, and if it's camped its by only one person who usually doesn't mind having a partner.
Moral of the story, play on red.

Yeah... as they follow the bards :(
And that's about every - freakin - night.
And they run off and take 20mins to kill them leaving the area with no mobs... apart from griffons they wont touch.
I mean literally, I've seen bards run off with 50 mobs out of ranger tracking range leaving just a few griffons and the npc's. But when no bards to cause grief, yeah NK is well worth it, enough for a few players in the area (most wisps spawn around that guard tower). Although, I see few clerics out there, most of them tend to hunt undead in exp bonus areas.

If it was as great as you say it is, the constant red spam in every forum wouldn't be necessary and the server would be populated by its merits alone. It's only had what, 4 years to mature now?
